  1. Smell Aversion... make the nastiest, rottenest, most putrid concoction of whatever put it in a little airtight (obviously) vial and whenever you have the temptation or start to fantacize about it open it up and take a big whiff.
  2. Oh, ok 2004 Chevy Cavalier 4-dr:deviousskull:
  3. Why? Are you collecting information on us for some reason?
  4. Noooo, the lady said "Pres. Munson", whoever that is?
  5. See, it's things like this... Blaming everything on George Bush and the "Bush Administration" that kept me from learning the truth for so long. Fortunately, a friend gave me a DVD.. "America: Freedom to Facism" by Aaron Russo, which gives a balanced approach to the subject and isn't done with the buffonery and Republican blaming of the fat pig Michael Moore and his ilk. There is enough blame to go around amoung all the politicians, this administration was just another step in the process. No worse or better then most other administrations.
  6. "Appearance of gold". The Nephite writers only say "ore" or "metal" when referring to the plates, which could be any metal or combination of metals. As anti-Mormon critics have pointed out pure gold plates would be nigh impossible for Joseph to carry the night he retrieved them, no matter how good of a stick-puller he was
  7. The Jews weren't as spiritually prepared to receive greater insight into His coming as the Nephites of the Book of Mormon. Keep in mind also there are verses in the NT that indicate they knew more about His coming then the OT indicates. (It's late I'll look it up tommorrow) I'm sure (I hope) this has been said... The Nephites (Lehites, technically) left Jerusalem 600 years before Christ, Malachi was written about 300 years before Christ.
  8. Sure... he causes trials and temptations that help us to learn and grow spiritually. By being bad he's doing good.
  9. I think people should worry about what is actually there before adding to the revelation with stuff like Coca-Cola. Fruit in it's season, wheat for man, sparing on the meat (best in times of winter of famine) are ACTUALLY there, Coke isn't. BTW, I've been on a Dr. Pepper kick as of late, weird because I usually only drink it when I go to the movies.
  10. Hmm, so the WOW is NOT an important belief in your church? I'm confused.
  11. What's so amazing about that? Could not the Word of Wisdom be considered a subtext of the Articles of Faith in your church?
  12. Context is SOOOO lovely... Jesus was speaking of the ritual washing of hands not of eating whatever the heck you want. Booze goes into your body, does that mean you are not defiled by it?
  13. So now all of a sudden you are using older sources when it fits your arguments. I LOVE it. Apparently you missed reading your "Teaching: No Greater Calling" manual where it instructs you to use the most current edition of the scriptures. Are you saying your leaders are not inspired when placing the comma where it is now? I suppose you are going to start using the Journal of Discourses now that you have discovered how wonderful the older sources are.
  14. LDS Vegetarians.... That's almost an oxy-moron. Except for the brave few who take the WofW very at it's word Mormons are very carnivorous.
  15. Do you believe there is a contradiction that you have to chose to believe he was born in Bethlehem?? Please reread the verse you are alluding to. It says he was born "AT Jerusalem the LAND of our forefathers." There are Biblical verses that also refer the the area surrounding Jerusalem as "Jerusalem". Don't be confused with the lies of supposed Christians about the Book of Mormon.
  16. Here is a quick response I wrote when confronted by Christians with this argument... "Grace and Works (all Book of Mormon references taken from the 1990 Temple Lot Edition and Bible references from the NKJV by Thomas Nelson, Inc.) I’m excited to be able to address the objection to 2 Nephi 11:44. Shall we read the offending verse to begin? “For we know it is by grace that we are saved after all we can do.” (2 Nephi 11:44) or in the words of another Book of Mormon prophet… “And remember that after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.” (2 Nephi 7:42) Now let’s be blunt here… Unless they are followers of Carlton Pearson’s false theology, Christians, if pressed, must admit they believe this also; they just differ on what exactly “after all we can do” entails. Most Christians will tell you that you must “confess the name of Jesus Christ to be saved.” Is that not a work? We as believers in the Bible and Book of Mormon believe that Christ’s admonition to Nicodemus applies to all that learn the gospel… that we must be “born of water and the Spirit.”(John 3:5) These are the “works” we must perform, in faith, as believers to be saved. Of what use is it to learn the gospel but not follow it’s commandments? It is good for nothing. But for the sake of argument let’s explore the concept of judgment and works… First the Book of Mormon is clear that our works without faith or the atonement of Jesus Christ avail us nothing, as we would never, of ourselves, be worthy to receive salvation. Let us read the words of a wise old king named Benjamin… “I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the thanks and praise which your whole souls hath power to possess, to that God who hath created you, and hath kept and preserved you, and hath caused that ye should rejoice, and hath granted that ye should live in peace one with another; I say unto you, that if ye should serve him who hath created you from the beginning, and art preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move, and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another; I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole soul, yet ye would be unprofitable servants.” (Mosiah 1:52-54) Now the Book of Mormon is clear we are judged and rewarded, or condemned, according to our works. But the Bible is just as plain! We shall forgo the Book of Mormon passages in favor of the Biblical ones to prove this point… “…And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books… …And they were judged, each one according to his works.” (Revelation 20:12-13) “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each one according to his works.” (Matthew 16:27) “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each one according to his deeds.”(Romans 2:5-6) “Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.”(Psalm 62:12) “…And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” (Proverbs 24:12) “For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way.” (Job 34:11) “You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doing.” (Jeremiah 32:19) “Yet you say, ‘The way of the LORD is not fair.’ O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his own ways.” (Ezekiel 33:20) “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10) These Biblical verses should be sufficient to show that those who fight the Book of Mormon on this principle are ignorant of their own Bible at best, or are purposely wresting the scriptures and selectively quoting verses that are pleasing to the fleshly man at worst. In the matter of grace and works, the Two Sticks (Ezekiel 37) are in complete harmony. Cease to fight against the word of God."
