There is another book called Shades of Gray that is by Kay Hooper, one of my very favorite serial killer book authors, who also writes romances. Havent read this one yet but I do love the Bishop series. Oh she also wrote the Wizard in Seattle book, which while I enjoyed it ,was an Atlantis book which I tend to avoid at all costs and not nearly as interesting as the Bishop series. Kay Hooper has sold over 13 million books, if I remember right, so she isnt really in need of upping her popularity with a copycat named sleazy book.

Guns in Theaters are a Good Idea?

Anatess, read some history before you decide what is crap. You only know what you have been taught but you seem to think it is the only way. It is not. Last post on this. You are certainly welcome to your point of view. Just remember its yours. -
Guns in Theaters are a Good Idea?

Maybe. Maybe some prefer to have good social programs that they pay taxes into. The intention of being charitable is accomplished by both. I read a story once that had a thought provoking way to do taxes. Every year, at tax time, the people were required on one day to sit down at a computer and chose the things they wished to support with their taxes. Some chose education, some medical research, some military defense. The choices were varied and if you didnt like them you had your money go to a new choice. Everyone chose where THEIR taxes went and no one chose where someone else's went. Changed, if you gave your taxes to the church are you going to expect the church to fix the freeways? -

Anatess, when I was in high school, conservative meant strict reading of the constitution. If it didnt specifically say it then it wasnt. Liberal was the interpretation that we can assume that they intended to mean or extend the words to mean additional things. Now this is not what it means in popular culture now. Meanings change but not necessarily in an even fashion. For instance in the 'liberal' community both terms have vastly different meanings than you will find in the 'conservative' community. Watch fox and msnbc and you cant deny its true. You will also find it has rather different meanings in other countries. The terms are very flexible and seem to depend entirely on who is speaking. If you wish to communicate it pays to not assume that your definition is the same everywhere. In fact it pays to find out what person means when they classify themselves. -

and I think He expects us to keep in mind it's not ours. It's His. He expects us to take care of each other with what He has 'given' us. -
I was talking about this thread. No woman should feel like less of a mom because of necessity and I would hope that is clear. Bini did miss out on something but that is just life. Baby and safety is more important than what we would like or prefer. I am just glad that more women see they have choices in most cases. When there is no intelligent choice other than c-section, well then that is what they are for. A healthy mom and baby is an excellent outcome however it came about. :) Bini, I understand why you would want the vbac. I would give up every one of my natural births if it was the difference between a good outcome and not so good. If you knew me you would know I have serious issues with UNNECESSARY interventions but unnecessary is the key word. Keep in mind that an excellent mom is going to put the safety of the baby first, as I know you do.

Problem, Vort, is that conservatives define it based on faux news's definition. Would you allow antimormons to define to you what LDS means? -
When I had my first baby 40 years ago people were talking about reducing the numbers of C-Sections. It is not a new subject, certainly not just 10 or 20 years old. Problem is it was the women who were discussing it with very few doctors. There was a climate of extreme distrust on both sides. I personally bore the brunt, or should I say very sharp jabbing fingers, because of disagreements with my ob. Many of us decided it was not worth the dangers in a hospital birth and opted for prenatal care and home births. It has taken 40 years for doctors to finally listen to us even if it is in a very odd way. We knew then that women could have natural births even with a previous c-section. I am sensing an almost angry feeling to those who adamantly prefer natural. That is very sad. It is because of women demanding better care and natural births that so much has changed in 40 years. Not enough but a lot.

You of course are free to have your own brand of liberal but this is MY brand and I stand by it. You can no more tell me what I believe in politics than a non mormon can tell an LDS person what they believe. It just doesnt work that way. I KNOW you would not like my definition of a conservative so perhaps we should concede that we have a right to our own definition as to what we believe. -
It makes sense to think of it being within hearing distance. Of course we hear it on the tv and web. I am not sure rumors is even applicable any more. With live streaming we see and hear so its not a rumor of any kind.

what we have here is a failure to communicate. ty ken.

Well I am so glad I can define my own liberalness. Those definitions sure dont fit with any thing I believe in. I am more into the scriptural definition myself. Charity is the love of God. If you have charity you have love for God. and for your fellow man. I can not see how a person can love God and not want to help people with whatever is good. Food, housing, education, healthcare are things people need. Government programs make it easier and more efficient, cost, material, personnel wise, to help. You can put in states rights, whatever in your definition but its not mine. -
You dont follow this kind of thing? ^^ ok sorry but that just surprised me. :)

And that is just what I was going to type. She is abusive and it hardly matters what her other problems are. WHY do you even want more children to come into your house to be abused? IF you do not take care of this NOW you might as well be dropping them on the floor yourself. They depend on you to protect them and you are NOT. If she wont stop then those kids need out of there. Anatess, I am assuming you never physically abused your kids. If you did I am glad you have gotten control of that huge issue.

no. He is saying an AVERAGE of 3 or 4 exposures makes someone an addict. That might not be what the counselor meant either. She may well have meant 3 or 4 CAN make you an addict.
-
Why? It has been interesting.

I am not going to debate if porn is worse than adultery. Its not. If I see my husband is watching porn I can be upset, angry, whatever. If I see him committing adultery, I can kill her and no more problem.

Girls just want to have fun? LDS girls tend to want to have an eternal family. Sexual sins pull away from that goal.

lol I think he deserved it if he was stupid enough to have a gun in a theater. I have posted here and in other places that I think guns in theaters, even in towns or in crowds, is a stupid idea. I am not attacking guns, per se. Just the lack of common sense on where they are appropriate. LM, I am sure I can find, at least, an equal number of places guns caused problems instead of aid but please dont ask me to do that. I am trying to get some housework done!! :) -

Guns do go off when dropped. My gosh I had a .22 pistol go off in my hand and I was just holding it. Scared the heck out of me since my brothers were around. I do agree we probably dont know the entire story. Maybe he was fondling it. Is that what we are doing, LoudmouthMormon? You read my mind better than I do!!
