  1. I got that, and I appreciate that concept.:) My problem with part of the concept is that I understood God to tell us that much of what He has to teach us He has already told us. It has to do with us asking for more revelations. Now where do you think we are to look for this already dispensed knowledge and teachings? Personal instruction for our daily decisions? Right I got that completely.
  2. Arsenic mixed with honey will never be good for food. It has all the ingredient to support and even enhance life but. . . Does a book that contains spiritual food yet is laced with spiritual poison contain healthy ingredients for all but the chemist of the highest order?
  3. Good question. "Follow after"? You should use the words "accept as Scripture". Now do we throw out the D&C, PofGP, and the Bible Because we accept the BOM as Scripture? Now this other book of which we speak is only a book. Not brought forth by a prophet. Not Scripture. Yet it proclaims to be so and you others say we should not judge it and to do so causes divisions. Hummmmmmmmmmmmm:cool:
  4. So, you are saying that we should not be divided from another man who claims to be God's Prophet? If we have another opinion on that and speak our mind we are causing divisions? Just asking:cool:
  5. Yes, a mind that is open. God has given us His guidelines for judging whether it be of God or not. We have a world wide Church today with a Prophet at it's head. The Keys in his hands to dispense to whomsoever God directs. I'll stick with that.
  6. I feel we need to warn that this is "Simply as an interesting story for now.". We know better, let us not keep quiet about it. There seems to be an odd feeling I get about some - defending this book it seems - to keep people quiet about it's dangers. What is that all about?
  7. And I thank you for reading it. If what you say is true (and I have no reason to doubt you:)), that is good enough for me. I most likely will never get around to reading it (I am waiting for the movie to come out:eek:) Thanks again for your synopsis.
  8. I pray this is "tongue in cheek" here. Why would they even bother? Now as I write thinking about it, yes, I would think that this could cause some confusion:confused: among some, sooooooooooo:mellow:
  9. The majority of comments on this book have limited themselves to basically "If new revelation from God was to come forth to the world, it will come forth through His prophet.". And then went on from that already established truth. Now what is emotional unfounded jabber is that?
  10. I know we are "trashing it" but I believe it is fine to do so among ourselves. We are not setting up a web site for the purpose of "Exposing the Book of Jeraneck" as many have don with other books. I agree with what you said we should do if we are really concerned with the book and I would be among the first to find a Gung Ho believer and learn first from him or her. But I really do not have that much concern other then a curiosity and feel there is no problem with chewing it up among. . . . O, well:cool:
  11. Actually I believe that wet streets cause rain.
  12. Again, The Holy Ghost would only testify according to what the Father hath said. As the P has challenged (not me, him the OP), What if we cannot rely on Heavenly Father for absolute truth? According to his challenge, it may be that He is not even "Heavenly Father", we have only His word for it. Yes, as I said, he the OP, has picked his screen name very appropriately:( Should he evenly be allowed to make such an assertion?
  13. You started out with "According to scripture, "truth" is defined as. . . " Again, if I understand him right (and I believe I got him right) our OP says we only have God's word to say what is in our writings and what the prophet says. The OP wants to know what else we have encase God may be arbitrary (a gentle way to put it) in what He says. Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. That was why I advised caution to him about the direction he was taking.
  14. According to these people responsible for this study, . . . most of the "Universe" is a machine made to keep the very few planets (in comparison to the rest) on the outside of the star systems that can sustain life, in a constant.
  15. But he (OP) says that we only have God's word for those you list that we believe are Eternal truth:(
  16. I know my head gets to spinning by the third hour:eek:
  17. But what are the odds? The Incredible Design of the Earth and Our Solar System
  18. I feel that Apollyon would have us cut loose of God's "apron strings" and decide for ourselves weather things are true or not without His help (as He may be biased in His own favor).
  19. OK, I will ride along with you for a while:rolleyes: We have seen this done so many times in the past as you must have also as this tactic (if it is so) follows the few of the pretense of "I am only here to learn" so as to try to keep from getting shut down. Good luck with that:p I like these "emoticon things" by the way:D Very expressive
  20. To immune the very source most of us measure and receive truth by and from? Sound like the very first recorded tactic. Or, wait. . . The source of that account came from God, therefore. . . how can we be certain it even occurred? Right? You call yourself apollyon? How appropriate:cool:
  21. Yes, but I think that a direction you may be heading is on very dangerous ground:mellow:
  22. I first would like to say that I agree with you. Then I would point out that the Jewish people should not be held responsible for the illegal work of the Jewish Sanhedrin, or any other Jewish court.
