  1. Oh i think were all gonna see results that we havent seen in many years' we allready have, with lots and lots more to come; isnt it winderfull to have a person in the white house whom actually has intelligence and energy, to fullfill an agenda of many issues at the same time. What a wonderfull differance it is to to hear the president of the united states open his mouth and something other than "duh" comes out.:)

    I love your sarcasm LOL...............it is right?.....surely!

  2. I think it could very possibly save capitalism in America. Not because it will bring prosperity, but because it will create such a public distaste for expansionary fiscal and monetary policy that a new rush back toward laissez-faire capitalism will be brought about and prosperity restored.

    -a-train

In a perfect world, but no, can't see that happening sorry!

  3. Hey Bytor,

Why would Obama capitalize on our fears if he didn’t believe his economic policies would work? What possible benefit would he get from doing so?

Why would he do that? What does Obama possibly have to gain by taking advantage of our fears to implement his economic policies he knows won’t work, which would seriously damage our country?

It just makes no sense to attribute motives to Obama that will bring about his, and the country's, failure. He benefits nothing from doing so.

    Elphaba

You just have to look at history to see the reason why. Abraham Lincoln or John F Kennedy. They were both about to blow the banking elite out of the water, yet Obama is paying these people off, maybe he is promised greater power if he ruins the country. Or on the other end of the spectrum you have Stalin, Hitler or Mussolini. Makes sense to me. You think in this day and age nice people like Obama Hussein care about you. I beg to differ and he has proved that more than once. Power is the operative word. It is always what Lucifer promises to those who want control of the world.

  4. What does this even mean?

The Democratic party wish list? What is that?

How does the "Democratic Party" benefit from capitalizing on the fears of ignorant Americans? What do they gain by ruining the country?

I loathe the far right-wing, but I don't believe they're purposely out to devastate the country, or ruin people's lives. I think the Bush administration was reckless, ignorant and ruthless. But I don't think he purposely did the things he did to cause us harm; rather, I think he believed his actions were best for the country.

Both parties think they have the best answers on how to govern the country. They're not all heartless, cold-blooded human beings who care nothing about us, and only about themselves.

Corrupt legislators? Yes, they are despicable. Thankfully many of those we know about are gone now. I assume there are still some in office, or some new ones.

But your average legislator is sincerely devoted to his/her constituency, regardless of how whacked they are.

I've worked on a number of campaigns, and all of them have been the most honest and ethical people their constituents could have wanted. One probably lost her campaign because she would not focus on her opponent's dishonesty as she was committed to no negative campaigning.

Obama is not out to ruin you. He has not taken advantage of us to wring us dry. He is not appealing to our fears for personal gain. He honestly believes his policies will help the country recover. Whether he is right or wrong remains to be seen.

Tell me how he benefits from dragging the country into ruin?

    Elphaba

    t

They have much to gain by ruining the country. It is called POWER. These people have all the money they need and more, but they want power and that is what it is about. Obama is not the one you should be looking at as the buck does not stop with him and thats where everyone is going wrong. How do you think Lucifer will arise the Beast, not Obama, it is through the most powerful men and women in POWER.

  5. Well, how exactly does it do that I'm just wondering?

Seems like a guise to me....and I know you think I am crazy for saying this, but with OPEC going bankrupt, Russia predicted to be an iron curtain again soon, and in 6-12 months the collapse of the US dollar and many other things, I think it won't matter because you will be going down to the grocery store with a wheelbarrow of paper money just to buy a loaf of bread when all this happens.

Make sure your store cupboards full is all I can say.

  6. Geography 101.

It's highly debatable that this is actually true.

But if it is, it all happened under the watch of Christians.

    Can't blame me!

    Elphaba

Firstly, I disagree, yes we all know there have been disasters since the dawn of time. But the US has gone beyond ridiculous. It is sure fire!

Secondly, it is only debatable to you, and it is very evident to me.

  7. When ever I hear anything about the Obama Administration I remember the Bill Cosby sketch about the car.

"Some boys leave just enough gas in the car so that their father's run out of gas starting it up. That's how dumb some boys think their fathers' are. You think I'm so dumb, that I'm going to get in this car close the door and say, 'Oh my *** I ran out of gas closing the door!'"

Huh????? Maybe this is why I never watched Bill Cosby?

  8. I don't believe the fear-mongering liars telling me the evil corporations are trying to limit internet activity and build fast-lanes to paying sister corporations while blocking mom-and-pop sites. That is all complete balogna. If you experience limitations from your ISP, call them and tell them. If they don't fix the situtation to your liking, go to one of their competitors.

The fact is, the ISP business is extremely competitive and the ISPs are looking to provide the best service they can in order to keep market share. The whole lie about them working on a "Tony Soprano" business model is simply ridiculous. ISPs are trying to sell whatever paying customers want. Have you ever heard an add that said: "We slow down your internet experience", or "We give you only the best of the internet and keep you from going to websites we don't like".

There IS a regulator that every business fears far worse than government: the MARKET.

    -a-train

I think people believe too much that the buck stops at the government, that is half the problem here I think!

  9. If it wasn't then what was the purpose of the founding fathers who admitted that our country stands on this principle? Why should those who were persecuted in other lands by national religious groups come to America?

Yes! This country was founded many times on the founding principle of being followers of Christ since Adam.

It was in the Book Of Mormon that the Lord said America was a land where it's occupants were to worship him and if they did this they would be free and prosperous.

However, that isn't happening and the curses have been prominent now that wickedness and ungodliness abounds. Why are there so many natural disasters and freedom is getting squashed and a closed society is becoming more apparent and America is not prospering?

  10. This is a speech from the last true American President.

    TRANSCRIPT:

    Ladies and gentlemen:

The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it.

Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.

No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed. I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers--I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: "An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them. Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed--and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And that is why our press was protected by the First Amendment-- the only business in America specifically protected by the Constitution- -not primarily to amuse and entertain, not to emphasize the trivial and the sentimental, not to simply "give the public what it wants"--but to inform, to arouse, to reflect, to state our dangers and our opportunities, to indicate our crises and our choices, to lead, mold, educate and sometimes even anger public opinion.

This means greater coverage and analysis of international news--for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local. It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security--and we intend to do it. And so it is to the printing press--to the recorder of man's deeds, the keeper of his conscience, the courier of his news--that we look for strength and assistance, confident that with your help man will be what he was born to be: free and independent.

    President J F Kennedy

No wonder the man didn't have a chance!!

  11. The one comes to mind is what another member asked President Joseph Fielding Smith concerning the Sabbath and television but I do not have a Internet link for you but paste it here for your own edification:

Now everything you pasted into there was exactly what I needed to know.

    Thank you for that!

  12. One of the worse fights my wife and I had early in our marriage was determining how to keep the Sabbath day Holy.

Seems to be where we are at right now. We don't have big arguments about it, but the contention is there... So I think it's about time we did what you did, and sit down and discuss what we should do with our Sunday's. At the moment, asides from going to Church, I don't feel I get as much as I should out of the Sabbath.

Thank you for your input, it's helped a lot! I guess it's all about establishing our own traditions in our family where we both feel in tune.

  13. And this is one reason why I will never discuss politics amongst most Mormons. I'd get shouted down, told I'm following the devil and that I'm not a real Mormon. So far, I haven't been told that here, but I'm sure it will come soon enough. ;)

I know it's so funny, yet who controls politics in this world?? I have a feeling it isn't the Lord(yet). So we all may be guilty of following the devil in an ironic way really anyway supporting politics LOL.

  14. It is fascinating and scary to watch as the imbeciles in congress grand stand about an economic problem that they were the great architects of. Do you feel like these idiots in congress deserve the money that they receive from tax payers? How will we grade the congress for there out of control spending and reckless stewardship of our tax dollars ....nearly three trillion dollars in bailouts? We spew venom towards AIG executives for receiving bonuses promised to them by our government....President Obama included and they pretend they didn't know??? I think it rather foolish to hold business execs more accountable than we do politicians who spend our money like it is monopoly money.

You got it, but unfortunately they are good at pulling the wool over peoples eyes!

  15. Sorry for my ignorance... can somebody explain this statement to me?

It is highly likely about the future event that when Christ returns he will take the government into his power and control and create a righteous leadership, opposed to the counterfeit world government Lucifer is trying to establish as we speak.

  16. It is just another step closer to the end where the 'righteous of the land' will have to take control of the government and the nation before it completely crumbles.

I agree, unfortunately it will crumble first, and won't be taken over until after the Savior comes. But it will be a good day!

  17. Some awesome answers.. thank you for your input.

I guess the main thing is that we don't want to be so strict that the kids end up rebelling when they are older.

So it's great to get some points of view and input from those that have either been bought up in the Church or those that have older kids.

  18. Basically we have 2 children (3 & 4) who enjoy watching their 'Barbie' movies. One of us think that it's ok, as it is good morals and not bad to watch - even on the Sabbath. The other of us thinks no tv at all - unless it is a Church video or something like that. Guess I'm just wanting to know how do others entertain young ones on the Sabbath without resorting to the dreaded tv?
