Purpose ? I would say in short, they give and save humans lifes, that is my logical thinking but you want answers with some verses from scriptures, I think ? In The Book Of Mormon is evidence, in verse 2. Ne 25:19, that people in ancient America know the real name of the Christ before New Testament times. Israel people know from prophesys of The Old Testament only that the Christ will come but they did know the real name of the Christ. Between verses 2. Ne 25:19 ... his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. ... and the verse in Luke 1:31 ... And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. ... is about, let say, 700 years. I know ... you will say, ... Answer is a matter of visions and revelations Lehi, Nephi and other prophets have receive ... but how can I explain this in short to the investigator. With verses, please ?! Thank you

Here is another help that I need from you people here on forum. Here is the question - In Bible we don't find the prophecy of exact name of Messiah but in the book of Mormon, we read in verse 2. Ne 25:19 19 For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. How can I this explain to investigator ? Thank you

I been involve in discasion with one investigator about brass plates and his question was ''what books of old testament been included in brass plates'' that Nephi and his brothers bring from Jerusalem to father Lehi ? I give him to read verses from 1. Ne 5:10-13, this was not enough for him and he want to know exact list of books ? Can you name them and make some list. Thank you 10 And after they had given thanks unto the God of Israel, my father, Lehi, took the records which were engraven upon the plates of brass, and he did search them from the beginning. 11 And he beheld that they did contain the five books of Moses, which gave an account of the creation of the world, and also of Adam and Eve, who were our first parents; 12 And also a record of the Jews from the beginning, even down to the commencement of the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah; 13 And also the prophecies of the holy prophets, from the beginning, even down to the commencement of the reign of Zedekiah; and also many prophecies which have been spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah.
