  1. Was HF originally a man who Attained deification? If so he had a God he worshiped (and by implication still does? Does this open a door for a polytheistic/henotheistic debate? (I have talked to mormons off of the internet who admit yes this does and those who deny god ever had a god. So it runs the gamut. This is one of the issues that seems to me has one of the largest divides. Can anyone elaborate as to the confusion this topic causes? In most other forms of Christianity you have the common trinitarian belief and their is no room for interpretation. Why does there seem to be so much interpretive room in the LDS church?
  2. Does it give reasons?
  3. I would imagine so. especially to Americans who are not used to dietary restrictions unless self implemented.
  4. I just noticed your avatar. That's cool.
  5. Wait look at that! 100 posts senior member! WOO HOO!!!
  6. It for the most part is really good here. There are just a few who are really defensive and dont take the time to remember that by representing their faith on a LDS forum they are just that. Representatives of their faith. Through some of the conversations here I have learned a lot.
  7. I am not familiar with this. What is this issue?
  8. Not looking for a debate just a few opinions.
  9. I stand corrected:p
  10. No not here to argue really. I do want to learn.
  11. I would prefer doctrinal issues. Thank you elaborating.
  12. Me and Snow don't get along. Thank you for the suggestion though.
  13. Whatever you can think of that would be valid in this context.
  14. Some evry interesting stuff here. Thank you for posting this. A lot of these points I have always believed must be true. Can elaborate a little on this? Joseph Smith said: “No man can receive the Holy Ghost without receiving revelations. The Holy Ghost is a revelator” (History of the Church, 6:58).
  15. Very valid answer in reference to the population of this site. Can someone please come up with a topic that illustrates my point in the OP. I would but I have already been accused of a myriad of things (not by you pam:)) in relation to this topic. Maybe if someone else offers a example it will be taken a little more seriously.
  16. Thank you I appreciate that.
  17. If you have the time I really would like to hear what you have to say on this. Thank you:)
  18. Thank you good post.
  19. I agree with you 100% and this is one of the conundrums for me. But it doesn't make me want to stop learning about it. It just makes it more frustrating for both me and usually everyone I talk to about it. Sorry.
  20. So your problem with me is the fact that I am not mormon and don't believe what you do. So I shouldn't try to ask questions and understand? And by the way shoot me a pm and you can check the missionaries I meet with and I will give you the name of my friends father. You know the GA.
  21. I gave a few examples on page 2. But the question isn't specific. Just why all the differences in the beliefs. Isn't the reason for an organized faith unity of belief?
  22. Lets pretend that there are some of us out there that consider a witness of the holy ghost to be esoteric hocus pocus. Not saying it is not true for you but I just don't buy it. Therefore I do not consider it proof of anything. I am not even christian so how do I fit in with carm? What is your problem with me dude?
  23. Then get off the thread and let interested parties discuss it with an open mind.
  24. And also the point of this thread. Thank you lattelady.
