  1. Posts like that are completely uncalled for. Anyone is welcome here, as long as they follow the rules. I'm happy that there are so many non-LDS members who feel comfortable being a part of this site, and I want to keep it that way.
  2. It is Christ's tomb. Here is the original photo. Royalty-free Stock Photo Image: Holy Land Tomb Series | iStockphoto.com I can't see what you're talking about, but maybe it looks different on different monitors. I have a 24" screen right now, and I can't see anything, no matter how I resize it. That's the best I could do with the photo, because the template for LDSblogs.com lets you put in one image that's about 2200px wide, and then you will see more of it, depending on how big your screen is. I had the LDS temple spires for a bit, but the person who runs LDSBlogs wanted this one so I switched it.
  3. It's one thing for me to get emails on it. That I'm use to and I'm fine with that. But when a banned users sends threatening emails to one of the moderators, that's where I draw the line. Whether that email was sent by or in behalf of the person, it's something I take very seriously. That's where I feel it's my duty to remove contact information from the site and make sure that I inform others to take caution. Most of the moderators think I give way too many second chances, but I think people can change, and if someone want to conform to the rules of the site and be a part of it, I'm all for it. But if you go after one of the moderators, any compassion I have is out the window. This isn't about forgiveness. She isn't looking for a second chance. She doesn't want to be a part of the site. This is about cause and effect; actions and consequence.
  4. I can understand that people have different opinions of writers and historians, but please leave all the name calling and judgments out of it. These personal attacks are uncalled for.
  5. I have removed a post that contained contact information for Fent. The reasons why I did this are still being looked into. I apologize to Fent for creating this post, before I had actual proof of what occurred. Such a fuss was made that I really was worried for the members of this site, and at this point I'm not sure if my post was justified. This post may be modified again if and when I do receive that proof. I also retract my statement that all the moderators agree on this issue, as I do not believe this is the case. There appears to be at least one moderator who was against the actions taken. I hope that in the future all moderators would take a stand for any action that they felt was unjust. I don't expect all moderators to always agree, just that they will say something when they don't. Otherwise I become the liar when I make statements based on what I'm being told, and not how things really are. Also, moderators aren't allowed to discuss moderator topics with anyone else, and such is cause for removal. Please use discretion when talking on the Internet to anyone. Do not give out ANY personal information. I will allow this thread to remain open to address any concerns about internet safety.
  6. I just wanted to give you the heads up that the Church is allowing comments on their YouTube video that "Mormons Have Nothing to do With Texas Polygamy Sect." I responded to one comment about Mormons need to stop referring to themselves as Mormon.
  7. Four days ago Elder Ballard spoke at BYU-Idaho graduation and again asked graduates to get involved on the Internet: "Every month there are 60 billion searches for information on the Internet. Many are seeking information about the Church; and while some are finding the truth, others find anti-Mormon sites that mislead them and defame the Church." "Today I want to encourage you to reach out to others in the world to help change the perception and even the hearts of millions of our Heavenly Father's children by correcting misunderstandings by sharing with them the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ." Apostle urges BYU-Idaho graduates to make their influence felt in the digital world

  9. Anytime we have car problems, my mom asks if we are paying our tithing. Our old bishop always said too that to pay your tithing, and if you can't make ends meet after that, then go and talk to him and he will make sure your family is okay. He wanted to make sure that we were getting the blessing that come from paying a full tithing. My suggestion is to go to your Bishop and say "Here are our bills and here is our income. We want to pay tithing and we don't want to lose our home. Let us know what can be done." Then ultimately it's your decision how you want to proceed. Even try it for a few months and see what happens. At this point, it can't hurt :)
  10. As soon as I heard that there were beds in their temple, I was completely behind the removal off all the children. But I will be sickened if this results in families being torn apart and those children ending up in foster homes. I hope they keep the children with their mothers and learn from the mistakes of the Colorado City raid of 1953.
  11. This is a beautiful presentation, and I wanted to share: Reflections of Christ: Reflections Slideshow
  12. Ruthie, will you define what you mean by that? I don't think anyone has suggested that any person is a throw away. Jessica, Only you and your Heavenly Father know what's best for you. If you pray about it and you have felt peace in your decision, then you know you've made the right one. No one has the right to tell you to try and work out a marriage with an abuser and a cheater, and no one has the right to demand that you leave him. Ultimately you and your children are the ones who have to live with the consequences of each action, so it should be you deciding what consequences are the best for you and your children.
  13. Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm really looking forward to getting to know him better. I loved his testimony at the end of his talk, especially the following quotes: "I rejoice that for the balance of my life I shall be able continually to offer Christ, to offer the good news of Christ, throughout all the world." "Jesus has had no greater witness nor devoted friend than Joseph Smith." It was such a wonderful, powerful testimony:
  14. I thought you might like this video montage I put together of members from the Quorum of the Twelve bearing their testimonies from this last conference. I left this video open to comments.
  15. Six no need to be harsh, but glad you pointed out that she did say education was important, which I completely agree with.
