  1. My ward was this way. We switched to a different ward, same building, different stake. This was one factor. They would assign lots of things, like cleaning the chapel on saturdays. I work on saturdays, so I told them I would not be there. I was told it was my responsibility to find a replacement. I disagreed, saying it was their responsibility to find volunteers, and see that it was done, not mine.

  2. Thanks for the words of wisdom (he he)> I know it isn't simple. It's the different software and instructions I have had trouble understanding. Hardware I understand better, and can completely gut my computer and replace everything without much trouble. And so many gray areas. People say "x" software will do it, or "y" software will do it "this" and "that", yet those software companies don't support it and won't publicly "say" it will, for fear of being sued.

  3. I need to run OSX on my pc. I either need to set up a dual boot system with OSX on a separate hdd or in a VM environment. I am looking for someone who can help me do it, or a shop to set it up for me. I only need to use it one in a while. Apple does not allow uploading to the iBook store except from an Intel based mac. I don't want to spend $1000 for something to use a few times a month.

  4. A five year history doesn't give us much information about how extreme that pattern is. We'd need to know how many EF5 equivalents happened before the EF scale was adopted. With the data provided, it's impossible to know if this year's jump is an aberration or just random variation.

Only 51 F5 from 1950 to 2007 when the change to EF5 was made. That is less than 1 per year.

  5. I use SUPERantispyware , Malwarebytes, and Ccleaner on all 3 computers in my home. I use the $20 paid versions for the real time protection and scheduling. At least one of the 2 are run every day on each one. MAM blocked a trojan attempt this morning.

I cannot tell you how many time A DAY i get a call from someone to please block a charge (can't) cuz the a/v software the bought (always billed from foreign countries) doesn't work and they still have a virus, or the figured out that it's fake and want to change their credit card number.

I had a guy upset last week because he was trying to buy MAC Defender to protect his computer and why didn't his charge go thru. He was lucky, we blocked the charge and I closed his account.

For some people if you send an email that says "click here---> X so I can steal your identity, they will click anyways.

  6. Altho I thought the movie fairly ok, my wife cried at the ending. They did not adapt it to film well. It was like they spent the whole time quoting the book. I think it did a fair job communicating the ideals, but very stiff and forced. Especially the scene where Hank tells Dagny he is married. Having read the book last year I found myself flashing back to it the whole time.

I have just started reading The Fountainhead.

  7. Before we start to get all judgmental..let's stick with the OP. The OP is asking about intellectual writers.

Although my comment was meant tongue in cheek, my wife is extremely intellectual.

As to the story, it's actually an allegory of the atonement. Hence, the title playing upon the myths that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. Also the reason the release date is Easter. It is romantic fiction. It seems you missed the "FORMER PROSTITUTE" part so let me emphasize that part. Does not the atonement apply to someone with that type of past?
