  1. Backroads, there is a link in the post by Just a Guy where it says "wish granted". I went to the site, downloaded the form, followed the easy instructions. 24 hours later I got an email from church headquarters saying I was set up to make electronic donations, including tithing.

  2. I am choosing the electronic method to simplify the process for me. I can click on my billpay, and submit. The next day it's gone from my account and I am paid. Much easier than keeping track of checks, waiting for them to clear and doing stop payment for lost ones. Sometimes it would be over a month to clear.

  3. Go BlackBerry Playbook.

The QNX based operating system means you'll be able to integrate the literally tens of thousands of google android apps, will have more integration options and will be more stable. You'll be able to run Flash, which means you will have more internet capability than what you were considering before and the hardware is better.

It's the best tablet on the market.

Technically it's not on the market. you can pre-order it.

  4. Tubaloth, a tablet isn't a phone, though. Tablet's are very handy, just depends what you will use it for. My wife and I have Blackberry smartphones. We have twitter, facebook and email, along with mobipocket to read. We have The LDS library on them. Handy, but very small to read. My wife has 3 other e-book devices to read on, and just got an iPad 1, but not because she wanted it. It was necessary for her to do work for a client she has. She actually doesn't even care for it that much. 2 hours after buying it she said "$550 for a gadget and I hate it already"That being said, ipads have many other functions, including reading scriptures etc. Just remember, iPads do not support Adobe Flash, since Mr Jobs considers Adobe his mortal enemy for some reason. This will limit lots of things. I think the upcoming Blackberry Playbook to be a good option, since it will support flash, and will sync with my phone.

  5. I enjoy Beck's humor. I appreciate the investigative contributions he's made in revealing stuff nobody else had revealed. I also think every month that goes by, he's further and further into fringe nut territory, and I can't really follow him there.

(I'm also secretly afraid that the 'fringe nut' stuff is getting more realistic, more based on solid fact and more reasonable and easy to believe.)

(Finally, I'm ultimately afraid that my secret fear is an indication that I'm moving towards the fringe, and interpreting that as the fringe moving towards me.)

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't REALLY following you.:lol:

  6. lol...The only time I use Internet Destroyer is for windows update since Microsoft is skeered to let us do it with real browsers.

A huge annoyance I have with FF4 is they changed the order of the menu when you right-click. I am used to "open in new tab" being the second choice and now it's first. I keep opening new windows in error.

  7. Actually, do the customize thing again and the refresh button will be next to the address bar. For some reason it's tucked into that bar. Once you customize, it will show up. Then drag it over to where you want it to be and it will un-dock it.

    thanks, it worked for me.

  8. The bottom line, as I told the Stake president of the ward I was attending at the time(same building shared by 2 stakes) : Which is the better option 1) go to a ward I am not assigned to or 2) not go at all. He agreed better that we go somewhere rather than nowhere.

And things changed, 9 months went by and we resumed going to the correct ward.

  9. What about the issue of home / visiting teachers? They will be unable to be assigned. They can bring an amazing spirit into most homes they enter.

You would still have a home teacher assigned to you from your ward of record. If they visit or not is up to them. When I was in this situation, I still had occasional visits. It didn't bother me if they didn't visit, as I knew i was not doing it either and so I did not expect it.

  10. Why do people keep saying the simplest thing is to move? Moving is never simple, especially if you own your home.

The simplest thing is simply to attend the ward of your choosing until the situation changes. So you can't have a calling or give a talk. Big deal. Only real issues stem from the time to renew your recommend, or if other ordinances need to be performed, such as baptising a child. Tithing can be done by mail, so that is a non issue also.
