  1. Obviously others get differing confirmations when praying about the same thing. . Although I do enjoy me some coffee these days! I have posted this comment not to long ago. that when you are Baptized into the LDS Faith, it is recorded in Heaven. and because you simply want to "dismiss" the fact that you were baptized claiming that Heavenly Father through prayer told you to leave the church is false.you will for the remainder of your life be held accountable for choosing to walk away fromt he gospel. Heavenly Father will not bring you this far to drop you on your head, if you fell on your head its because of your own doing. I dont believe that Heavenly Father would lead you to some other faith once you have been baptized into his restored gospel. you have allowed yourself to be decieved by the prince of darkness There is no happiness or peace of mind except through obedience to the commandments of God. There is no salvation or eternal life except through acceptance of the gospel and living according to its teachings. The Book of Mormon teaches, “Unless a man shall endure to the end, in following the example of the Son of the living God, he cannot be saved” (2 Ne. 31:16). The gospel will do us little good if we do not live it. Membership in the Church will not save us unless we keep the commandments. A half-hearted effort will not save us either. Instead, it will bring condemnation. The Lord has so declared in section 58 of the Doctrine and Covenants. (See D&C 58:29.) One of the great prophets of ancient times was Samuel the Lamanite. I like the way he taught. He was plain and straightforward in his manner of speech. He did not mince words, nor did he leave the people wondering what he meant. As he spoke from the walls of Zarahemla, calling the Nephites to repentance, he told them bluntly that if they refused to live the gospel condemnation would come upon them, and he made it clear that they would have no one to blame but themselves. “Remember, remember,” he said, “that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself.” (Hel. 14:30.) Then he said that, since we have free agency, we can choose the good or the evil, life or death; but he declared that in the end we shall most certainly receive exactly what we ourselves have chosen. Isn’t it time for each of us to learn the lesson of Gethsemane and say with Him: “Not my will, but thine, be done”? (Luke 22:42.)
  2. WINNIE Your the Bomb!!!! Thanks for making me laugh! cyn
  3. Can someone explain, please and thank you!M. Maureen Im going to take a quick stab at this issue but I'll leave the main focus of your concern to be answered by one who hold the priesthood. I believe it matters as to what caused the divorce...ie: committing adultery, which would allow a woman to be "unsealed" and allow a new marriage and sealed to a more "righteous" man. but as for a marriage ending because of ie:falling out of love, to less serious matters . this matter would keep the man "sealed" to his ex. Im curious to see feedback from Ben Raines one womans opinion cyn
  4. Winnie I can understand why a friend would make such a comment, and not meaning to be rude towards you because she is unaware of what her words have done to you. but my thought leads me to think that your main goal as a family is to remain an eternal one. even though your living the gospel your kids surely will make there own choices but sometimes they just dont see your Ultimate goal, and of coarse Lucifer when he see's your family going in the right direction whichs irks the hell out of him, therefor if he can meddle his way into your daughters life and muck up her... then that just makes your desire placed back a couple of foot steps. just for pure humor...when I have had trials in my life that I know all well that Lucifer is behind it, I simply write his name on a piece of paper and draw a hand with only the middle finger extended and I think you get the picture! its just my way of letting him know, I know of his antics sometimes all a parent can do is simply go on... in time your daughter will catch up, whenever she is around play primary music in your home. it will conjour up feelings of when she was younger and if you really want to test it. ask as many people you know to fast and pray on her behalf. pick the day! and get her name on the temple roll every possible time you can! I have witnessed amazing things just as your going through with amazing results. and please dont bypass sacrament because of things your daughter has done your friend in the gospel

  6. Actually I am very LDS, just from the East Coast. I have been told that I have a strong personality. Im surrounded by 80% catholics, in which cause I was born one, I recieved the Gospel when I was 14 yrs old, much against my familys wish. I have an incrediably Strong Testimony, I have had the pleasure of sharing and teaching the Gospel to many many people and have had the honor to see hundreds baptized though the many years, in which I might add, because of my bluntness because I shared the truth, they were converted, I also have been married in the Washington DC Temple, and have six strong growing children in the Gospel. I will no matter what always stand to keep the title of liberty flying high. I've had the pleasure to travel across this entire county meeting saints, and see those that are strong like myself to those that wane in there testimony as for spiritual, the experiences I have had would blow your mind, maybe even humble you. the veil is pretty thin. as for a Time Out? I have attended several "Time Out for Women" there superb. Regards This Sister from Massachusetts
  7. cynyclsgirl - Your reading comprehension & communication skills require improvement. After your first paragraph you say your comments are directed towards me. Do you still think that I'm Heather, really disguised as Maureen hosting a LDS website, but claiming to be Lutheran - I'm getting dizzy. Or are you saying that you figured it out and realize that Heather and Maureen are two different people? M. [/quote)call me dumb yes I didnt completly read All the comments and I apoligize for that. I had meant to forward that on to the actual email address supplied and realized the error after! I was having a "Blonde" moment everyones entitled to a mistake once in a while hey Ben was that offensive?
  8. Hey Travelerthanks for sharing a moment of your time about your dad, to live amoungst an Patriarch is a great blessing he lived the way the Savior wanted him too. now I hear the heavens echo "well done my faithful servant" I to sang to my mother as she lay in a hospital bed dying on a christmas morning. what a peaceful way to go is to hear your children sing to you! God Bless You and your Family a fellow saint
  9. So Heather is this website to mock LDS? . I find your opinions rather borish, and do not support your opinions based toward the LDS community. I find it rather insulting that you would desire to "Host" a chat website claiming to be a "Lutheran" which leads me to believe that you have ill intentions toward the LDS community. I'll offer to buy this website, or simply change the name of it please. So Heather is this website to mock LDS? . 10. No, I am not relying on anyone else's wisdom. I was a member of this church for several years, and when I finally got serious about asking, God gave me the message to move on. I have been viewing the comments here for quite a while and I wanted to comment on your comment Shanstress when you mentioned that you were a member of the church for several years, when you got serious about asking God he gave you the message to move on? you seem to appear as someone who only will reply on "Proof" asking for "sources" Im sorry that you found refuge from "sources" that were not from God himself. for God would not lead his followers onto what you would consider "greener pastures" after finding the restored gospel. its lucifers desire to confuse you once again. it seems its him who has earned another check mark on his score board. so I can only muster up the thought that you are on LDS Talk for a reason, either you are trying to convince yourself and those like Prisonchaplin, Maureen who claim another religion but seem to find themselves leaving posts on a website for LDS. why? is there not any other worthy forums to chat about there own "religion" with those that profess or share there own beliefs, your wasting your time muddling around with those that have a strong knowledge of Joseph Smith and Testimony of the true restored gospel of Jesus Christ. or is it your mission to convert us back to your weak testimony, and have us be miserable like that of Lucifer, Im sure that those that submit posts that are not of the LDS faith only read to find more negative opinions or lack of a testimony to share with there friends. Im sorry that you were not born during Joseph Smiths day so that you could actually seek the proof and sources that you seem to need badly to affirm your beliefs The Gospel plan is very simple to the core, very understandable. I like Rays comments he's level headed and to the point. you can never walk away from the church, Heavenly Father knows you were baptized, he will not dismiss it as you have. you will be held accountable for having the truth, accepting it, whither you continue on in its journey or walk away. but if the church does bother you so, why continue to waste your precious time at this website? all other churchs on this earth have a degree of the truth, but not as completely as the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. the priesthood was restored. because of Joseph Smith the people of this world no longer has to walk in darkness. Just like a staircase lucifers at the bottom step, and as you take steps up you learn precept by precept, Heavenly Father leads you to another church with more truths, and as you progress, he leads you to even more truth, when those people have grown in knowledge he prepares his spirit children to recieve the complete truth which leaves the LDS only on the top step, you cannot progress any further or higher, you have arrived. if you feel that you have taken a step back down, thats your doing. I dont like seeing the nonsense from those that list there religion as "Christian" they are still seeking some knowledge they dont wish to list any other actual or claim membership to another church. some advice- call your existing R.S. pres and chat with her. continue to read the Ensign, if you dont have one subscribe at the LDS.org site.
  11. <div align="center"> WAY TO GO, You all tell that young whipper-snapper where to take it!!</div> TruthTeller ~ you have a LOT of growing up to do. Please do so before you come back and post. Or better yet, go find a forum of self-centered, boorish, neanderthals like yourself and be happy! I certainly would like to hear what your Mama has to say about your poor and serioulsy outdated attitude! Being a woman of sound mind, I conclude that yes woman have done a great disservice to america, it was admonished that woman are to preside in the home period! or great calamitys would result, if you dont believe me go and read the news. look at those in the prison systems, those that turn to drugs and achohol, theres no disapline, a society that is plagued with the "me" attitude. give me a break, because of the ERA which if I was old enough at the time I would of fought tool and nail against it. yep woman to blame for the downfall of society. now with this crap of gay marriage, its been foretold that, that will also bring america down, our values as a a nation are gone guess Eve thought she new what she was doing huh? we havent learned a thing since them!
  12. Does this mean we cannot reject David Koresh, or any of the other countless people who claim to be prophets? You forget, for those of us who don't believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet, there is no difference as to his credibility. David Koresh never claimed to be a prophet he professed to be the Savior himself. no one has ever claimed to be a living prophet on this earth, except that of Joseph Smith himself. by there fruits you shall know them there have been countless of other people who have lead groups of people and taught from there own learning mingled with scriptures but as of date they have all fallen. there churchs have crumbled, for God will not be mocked! my church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, is only going to grow larger and larger, for Heavenly Father will not allow his gospel to be mocked and that of Joseph Smiths name. at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. there are more books written about Joseph Smith than any other human being on this planet so your point is moot to state there is no credibilty to what he has done for this world, I dont believe for a moment that Joseph Smith jumped up and down and screamed 'Pick me" to restore the Saviors church. he was told by Heavenly Father himself what if you were to start writing in a journal today and did it for the remainder of your life and two three generations passed and your GGGgrandkid is reading your words and says "this is filled with falsehoods" though you penned those words yourself, you knew you did, so if so many books have been writtten about J.Smith how can one mock his credbility? actually have you takened the time to get on your knee's to actually ask Heavenly Father about Joseph Smith? or do you simply rely on your neighbors wisdom.
  13. Its my belief that when you take on the name of Christ after baptism and done by someone holding the priesthood authority, you promise or make covanants! and that means no matter what your mind tells you, you are to side with the teachings of Christ you are to remain loyal to what he has commanded, though you are given agency to choose wisely or not you cannot serve two masters also make note that when one does accept baptism and from that day forward to represent the Savior in all causes and one day you disagree or wish to walk away from the covanants you made in the past. even if it results in having your name taken off records from the church well guess what... Heavenly Father accepted your baptism and therefor cannot be annulled or simply written off, you will be held accountable for the remainder of your life, even if you went to another church, and "joined" The Savior does not accept it! plain and simple. The Savior will only accept into his kingdom those that are baptized into the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints you can proudly state that you smoke cigars, drink on occasion, dance (heaven forbid) or drink Coffee these vises still will allow you entrance to Gods Throne. who are you trying to kid?! For NO unclean thing can or will enter into the presence of Heavenly Father! yes you will be held for a temporary time in a place called "Paradise" until day of judgement then you will judged according to how you kept the commandments. listing your vises and being proud does not consitute actually seeing Hevenly Father eye to eye, he only resides in Celestial Glory and will not visit the lower kingdoms, thats why there are missionarys across this world knocking on doors trying to teach those that are humble to recieve the truth, we will be held accountable for not teaching every living soul about the plan of happiness, you agreed to the plan after the war in heaven when lucifer was cast out.
  14. WHO WILL INHERIT TELESTIAL GLORY Those who: Reject the Gospel-ie the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints Reject the Testimony of Jesus Are Liars, sorcereres, adulterers, and whoremongers WHO WILL INHERIT TERRESTRIAL GLORY Those who: Reject the Gospel in this life but recieve it in the spirit world Are Honorable but are blinded by the craftiness of men Are not valiant in the testimony of Jesus WOW CAN WE INHERIT CELSTIAL GLORY We must" Receive the testimony of Jesus Christ Be baptized by one with the Priesthood Authority ie: only LDS men Keep the Commandments Recieve the Gift of the Holy Ghost Overcome the world by Faith Be made perfect through the Atonement of Jesus Christ WHO ELSE WILL INHERIT CELESTIAL GLORY Those who: Die without a knowledge of the Gospel but "would have recieved it with all their hearts" Die before they arrive at the years of accountability Now as for considering President Gordon B Hinckley "holding office of prophet" your much mistaken, this Man of God was for ordained before his birth to this calling... he's not a mere prophet to the "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints" he is the Prophet to the entire World. If you can honestly say that you have rejected Joseph Smith then you deny any previous prophet that roamed the earth as in the Scriptures. can cannot pick and choose which prophets you prefer to believe and to ignore the actual fact that Joseph Smith also was foreordained to this calling, and was chosen by Father in Heaven to Restore his Gospel upon the earth as it was in the Saviors day. The Doctrine in the Church is Perfect, its completely restored. its the people who are not perfect. you can read the Book of Mormon a thousand times over and you will not ever find one teaching or doctrine wrong. just keep in mind that Lucifer will live the eternitys in misery and very much desires to do the same to the rest of us. if he can keep one soul from entering the Baptism covanants with Father in Heaven with HIS restored Gospel then he marvels in happiness. just another reminder you can recieve revelations for yourself and only yourself, you do not hold the Priesthood at all. only and just only can LDS men who have been ordained on this earth to hold Heavenly Fathers Priesthood such as a living prophet speak. those that teach at BYU do not constitute "prophets" theres only one, and his 12 councilors
