Yes, you were there, even when you were making that baby. That "fun" you were having comes with a responsibility. I know you liberals don't like that fact, but it's true. And what about that baby? Shouldn't it have a voice in whether or not you should kill it?

This is for the men of the board. Do any of you find it odd that women of the board don't get their knickers in a knot over abortion? Is it just me or do they sit there not contributing to the conversation? Women seem to just not care too much about the issue. My thought on this is how much of the decisions do women get upset over because at least the men have opinions and choose to voice them.

I don't think it's a time frame thing, but rather an environmental thing. I was raised in a time when people were trying to do what you describe, but I was also taught right from wrong. I was taught about taking personal responsibility for my actions as well. It was part of growing up to be a man. I think Snow may be on to something. I was never taught that a real man acts in the ways you described. Maybe the guys you were around were never taught how to act like men, but that isn't the norm nor should it be accepted as such.

That makes three of us, me, you, and Winnie. But it is fun to play these games with her.

I normally don't like to get into these type of discussions because nothing ever gets resolved, but I just want to say that the only time I get hot under the "caroler" is when my wife is laying on top of me singing christmas songs. Now, I don't know what that has to do with abortion, but you did bring it up, Winnie. Do you have documented proof of this number, Winnie? 99.9% of the workload, and by this I assume you mean the job of child-rearing, is quite a high number, and would probably be disputed by most, if not all, researchers on the subject. I would estimate that for most families, and by that I mean families with a committed father, the child-rearing workload number would be closer to 70-75%, especially if the father is the sole bread-winner and the mother stays home. Maybe you see there numbers a little different with military families, but those may not be reflective of society as a whole. Now, if you're talking about a woman who, to paraphrase Dr. Laura, will spread her legs for just about any man who gives her the time of day, if she then gets a guilt-pang and decides to care for the child by herself and refuses to get the father to even pay child-support, then maybe she does carry a workload in the 90 percentile range, but I think most women are not in that category. It still usually takes two people to get pregnant, and the sad fact is that many women who want to "have fun" usually don't think about the consequences of it until it is too late. Some men are pigs, but some women think they are invincible and that pregnancy won't happen to them when they have unprotected sex. And then they want to look good for guys like Disruptive, and so they make regrettable choices which will usually haunt them for the rest of their lives.

I was going to say something, but you beat me to it, Snow, and said it better than I would have. Here I was, extending a (somewhat broken) olive branch in friendship to Winnie, and Matt has to get all upset over it. Matt, you're obviously bitter about something that happened to you, why not just deal with it and then get on with your life?

I almost hate Blockbuster, I refuse to do business with them. I finally sent in my membership card the last time they sent me a letter claiming I owed them money and threatening to send it to a collection agency. So now I drive twice as far to give my business to Hollywood Video. Even if I get late fees from them, they don't demand that I pay them immediately and usually will take them off if I protest the charges. Plus, now I have the MVP card which gives me free rentals every third weekend of the month. That was $15 well-spent.

You mean you've lived that long in Canada and haven't been made an official Canuck? I thought you liked it there. You sure hate the US, why don't you just put in the proper paperwork and get it done? Don't tell me they're going to make you take a spelling test before you can become a Canadian! Kinda sad though, to think that the Canadian government has to hire a US citizen to run their military base the way you do. No home-grown talent there, huh? Just kidding Winnie, I like to pull your chain to keep you on your liberal tree-hugging hippie toes.

You can scratch this one off the list. I don't think Bush is trying to infringe on any basic human rights of homosexuals. I don't believe that Same-sex marriage is a basic human right.

I have to say that on this rare occasion, I will agree with something that Bat has said.

Whoa there, we just met, and that just over the internet. But thanks for the vote of confidence. Of course, if you love me in a brother/sister way, that would be okay too, I guess.

Hey Unorthodox, I just heard on the news that Utah's voter registration deadline is tomorrow, the 25th of October, so you can go to the county offices and register to cancel out my vote.

I disagree with this. I think young ones benefit from the meeting only up until the sacrament is over. I think the talks are just too far over their heads at that age. It would be nice if everyone could be together until the sacrament, and then the young ones be dismissed to nursery and the younger primary classes for the remainder of the meeting. I volunteer to take the kids in this nursery you propose. Some Sundays, the most important things happen during the first half hour of sacrament meeting, the rest is just wasted time. At least the kids would help me stay awake on "dry council" Sunday. I'm still waiting for the church to change to a two-hour meeting block.

I thought you were proud of your misspelling and lack of diction, it's "who you are". I remember reading something to that effect by you. On the other hand, I think it is no more insulting than having a former citizen going to a message board with members predominantly from his/her former country, and doing nothing but saying anything and everything to degrade his/her former country. If you would like, we could do some research and find you a good remedial english class in your area. I'm sure there are schools in Canada good enough to teach you how to write and be understood. After all, you have the best medical system in the world, a good education system must be in place there to teach all those great doctors how to write prescriptions. :) As for Mean Girls, I don't normally like to see chick flicks, but if it ever comes on TV and I am bored, I may give it a look. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

Interesting how the lefties like to spin things. Seems the report they are pointing to does admit no weapons were found, but not for lack of trying. Read this . How come nobody wants to talk about this part of the report? Hmmm, looks like the lefties got this one wrong, too.

Winnie's kid is in the house!!!

I believe what Don McLean affirmed in his song "American Pie". You know, the line where it says 'And the three men I admire most/ the Father Son and Holy Ghost'. If Don says they are three individual personages or men, how can there be any argument?
-
Yeah, you can't trust anyone who believes in God anymore.

I have that one mission that I just can't seem to get past. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I just can't figure out what it is. So I just enter the cheats and go on my own rampages. Does this make me evil?

Winnie's posts are some of the best ones here. If you can decipher them. My new Urim and Thummim broke so all I see are nonsensical liberal rants about the US by a non-citizen who can't seem to spell.

C'mon, be honest. The reason you're not going to vote this year is that you missed the registraion deadline. OKay, I just don't want to hear you whining down the road how bad things are in the future. People who refuse to vote should have no right to complain about things. Or it's could be your way of justifying your failure to educate yourself on the issues. Do you really have no opinion on anything?
-
The only way your vote or voice becomes less than someone else's is if you refuse to use it. Why not educate yourself about an issue and form an opinion as to whether it's the right thing to do? I suggest you engage in this type of stuff right now and don't realize it. Do you have friends? Do you talk about stuff? Do you make points about whether smoking or drinking or premarital sex are right or good for you? Do you try to convince others that your way of doing things works for you? You may not see it, but these are all related in some way to politics. Voting is how we share our opinion on someone or their policies. And if you feel strongly about something, you should be actively engaged in doing something about it. I get sick of politics myself. I can't wait for the election to be over so the garbage that's being thrown around can slow down just a little. But in the meantime I can help others see my point of view, and who knows, maybe I can convince them to see the light. If we just sit back and let others run the show, we don't have the right to complain about the outcomes, because we did nothing to try to stop it.
-
You should. Before you know it, you will be old enough to vote, and now is as good a time as any to start thinking about what you really believe in. If you wait until the day of your first vote to start worrying about politics, you will be entering the booth extremely unprepared. My 13 Y.O. daughter sometimes gets more upset about politics than I do, and she has 5 years before she can vote. You should have heard her yelling at John Kerry on the TV the other night when the debate was on, she was fuming about his comments.

You mean like Alaska? Or offshore drilling rigs? Or Texas? There are lots of places to get oil, the problem is making it economically and/or environmentally viable to do so.

I've noticed it more lately, I think it's some kind of fad going around. I prefer the shaved legs to lip, nose and tongue rings, though, so it can't be too bad.
