  1. I am an American so I prefer to talk about America(United States).
  2. Compromise is a lost art in America. It starts with individuals within our society who can not ever admit they are wrong. That then, sadly, carries with them into politics. If people could just break the chains of pride; this world would be a better place. People in America need to wake up and realize they are not always right. If Americans had the ability to recognize they don't always have to be right compromise could easily take place.
  3. Just kidding I have good in-laws also. I just don't give them enough credit for being good and me enough for being bad.
  4. I have never heard of such a thing... What planet are they from?
  5. It sounds like he has hardened his heart to the things of God. Since that is the case only the spirit can soften his hearten. What you can do is continue to be his friend. Just continue to be his friend and never cease to be his friend. If you continue to be his friend, when he falls he will have you to pick him up.You could even approach him lovingly and say, "I can tell you are not interested in the church and I don't like your decision but I still consider you a great friend."
  6. The very long leap in between those two must be where the debate is at. I don't see how God knowing everything means we are predestined.
  7. How does the Devil go above and beyond the temptation provided from ourselves by the fall? I think our unrighteous desires would be easy to suppress without the devil. The Holy Spirit would be so strong within us that no temptation could conquer us. That is what the Devil provides, the opposite of the still small voice. That is also why without the spirit in our lives the Devil is our master. Without the spirit nothing would stop us from doing his will and giving in to our carnal desires. The Devil uses our natural desires to further his purpose. That is why it is important that we don't even let the natural man pop his head up. The natural man is only within us by sinning. To eliminate all sin from our lives, eliminates the devil. The devil only has power over us through our natural desires, he can not go beyond that. He, the devil, uses what God created us with against us. If it was not for the fall, all of these desires that weigh us down would be in their perfect place. The fall, however, made them unrighteous desires. Thus, being the Devils tool to tempt us.
  8. Discussion Questions Why is the Devil needed in the plan? How does the Devil tempt us to sin beyond what we would do naturally? Is the plan a result of evil or evil a result of the plan?
  9. O Cobbet, how be it that you are so easy to forget your revelations? Those great and glorious revelations you received, even miracles. The time is nigh that you recall those revelations that were poured upon you. A man so easy to forget the treasures greater then this world can not be called a disciple of the Lord. Search your mind and pray mightily to recall, even relive, those memories.
  10. Do we choose our own Kingdom in Heaven? I think all the Lord has us do is view our righteousness and evil then we will go to our appropriate kingdom. After seeing what we have done in this life, if we are evil, being in the presence of the Lord will be too much to bear. It is not that the Lord doesn't want all of us in his presence. It is through the choices we have made that we will not be able to bear it. What does everyone think?
  11. Let me get this straight, you attended another church for a week and they are already bashing us? Brother, does know them by their fruit come to mind? Their fruit is not righteous if they spread hate? Count yourself as blessed, the Lord is sending you an undeniable message, that this church is true! There is nothing you have done or said that will stop the Lord from allowing you to regain his light. Brother, I urge you to think this through and come back!
  12. I would not worry to much about it happening. More then likely it will not happen. As far as condemning you, the answer would be no.
  13. I think we have more to agree on then disagree on. Your testimony was great and I have a similar one!
  14. No I am not patronizing... No I am not sorry for the comparison... What I am sorry for is that you think I am attacking you.
  15. Nadia, not at all, I have expressed repeatedly that is how we express our love(tolerance). You are free to meet the commandments requirements how you see fit. If you think about it, just read this thread, those who oppose it would get mad.
  16. I am sorry you feel that way ma'am; I wish I could change your mind somehow. :)
  17. I am sorry you feel that way ma'am; I wish I could change your mind somehow. :)
  18. There may be a plan in the works to have all Latter-day Saints who tolerate their gay brothers to wear rainbow ties at church one Sunday. Women would wear a bracelet or necklace. The national media would know about it and a lot of people would participate. It would be a way to show we don't hate you, you are God's Children also.
  19. I agree 100%! I am just saying for some attending a gay pride parade is showing love. It is also does not go against church teachings For the record lets vote, Who thinks I am an apostate or undermining the church if I attend a gay pride parade?
  20. So... Basically your arguments hinge on a lesser commandment superseding a higher commandment(love thy neighbor).
  21. If you read Windseekers post she basically said it is bad to have pride. That is what prompted me to give an example of how we also have pride. I even went so far as to put, "As far as, showing pride for a group of people." I was hoping it would show I was only talking about having pride.
  22. What SoulSearcher said should clarify my point for readers of this tread. The Latter-day Saints were not going because they agree with their actions. As SoulSearcher stated, "they were going for outreach." In the process, it softened hearts and showed that our church is tolerant. It does not matter that it is a gay pride parade, outreach is outreach. You can not say all the Latter-day Saints went for that reason. It comes down to the intent they had. We should be joyful, from reading Souls posts, it sounds like they had good intent. Respectfully, I have to disagree with the whole pride issue and touting the evils of pride. We need to be honest, a gay pride parade is not much different then a pioneer parade. As far as, showing pride for a group of people. The fact that they are showing pride in a sinful activity does not matter to the Latter-day Saints who went. They did not go for that reason. How many times do we go to a gas station that sells alcohol? I want to be clear, I am not saying you are a bad Latter-day Saint if you did not go.
  23. I see no other way somebody would be given a completely disabled body or mind. They must have been valiant(worthy; excellent), in the sense they didn't need all the experience we do. What other reason is there for them to not have a chance at mortality?
  24. I chose not to read your post after I read the first two lines. Next time you wish to engage me in a forum discussion do it with manners. Telling me I lie and a bunch of other nonsensical things is not showing your true self Vort. It is my sincere prayer, that you have a better day tomorrow.
  25. That is not at all what I saying. I was simply trying to emphasize a gay pride parade is an actuality and not a hypothetical.
