  1. PC... I like how much you know about LDS. It makes me happy that non-members are not totally ignorant, and that some do know stuff! I am suprised this is an AOG statment...I wouldn't think they would have the phrase " judged according to their works." in there. I would have thought something about "being 'born-again'" would be there.... Josh B) I have never heard "born-again" as directed as LDS, but ya... the judged according to their works is very LDS huh? But the rest is all soo NOT LDS
  2. :) I liked this post. :)
  3. The first one is LDS! I don't believe the first one is LDS... The first doesn't seem like LDS doctrine.. Am I wrong on anything? Your welcome. I'm curious--why do you find the non-LDS view of God's and humanity's nature depressing? because I like to believe that I had a choice to come down... and although it is depressing that not everyone chose Gods plan.... I do have a testimony that we lived in the pre-existance... and for that testimony to be considered false makes me sad...
  4. I see.... well... I believe different. lol. Yours depresses me a little, which is probably why I am LDS and not pentecostal. Thank you for explaining it though! :)
  5. And we shouldn't be judging at all anyway.Thank you for that! :) People like you make me smile!
  6. *thinking* that might be better than the hero cookie.THANK YOU PC!
  7. For this answer, look for the one that hints at God the Father, and the Son having a physical body. That would be the LDS answer. Didn't they both? You believe that you were created on earth? Souls and all??We believe that only our bodies were created on earth (as you know)... but... why do you believe that our souls lived before?
  8. I am sorry...I think that is my fault!
  9. I GOT THE BONUS! Excomunicate!I wanna hero cookie! The questions that I left up, I need help with..(except the bonus) And number 11... can you clerify what YOU believe about that please? Something about that sparked my intrest.
  10. LionHeart, are you referring to the Adam-God Theory? If you are, BY did bring it to the attention of the 19th century church, but it never did take root. M. Yes. However, I'm not quite sure I believe that Adam is the God of this world. But it does make sense that he did earn his salvation on another world. L.H. I think that is totally wack...
  11. Whooooh.. Maureen was right! You do say 10th grade... ........
  12. Makes you kinda think.... I believe this was George Bush senior that made this astement. L.H. Because the president is soo intelligent. (Depends on how you look at it I guess.... I don't like him much...)
  13. Then why the "Hail Mary" and the "Apostles Creed" and "Grace before meals"... They are getting carried away in my opinion with not thinking about their prayers.
  14. "Just dont be an idiot and you are fine" You don't have to be an idiot to think it is evil... The GA's say it is... they aren't idiots...
  15. NO! I don't want to be part of the states!NOOO! I am moving to Alberta! (I want to anyway).. Sorry you US of Aers... It just ain't for me.
  16. There was an article I read in an ensign about old testiment woman, and it mentioned how "we comment eve's wosdom to eat of the fruit." I don't know to much though.. That is just what I read. If anyone knows what edition, feel free to share, otherwise I will go look it up later. I am feeling unwell today.

  19. What is a Sophomore?GUESS: grade 12? I only think that because I THINK freshman is younger..... and I am grade 12.... so it was just easier..
  20. Hi Des..... When you go to the Temple and receive your endowments you will learn more of the creation...I will try to explain what I can about Adam and Eve for you. Adam and Eve were two Spirits predestined to be the Father and Mother of Earthly humans...when they were placed into the garden they had bodies but not mortal bodies nor celestial glorified bodies....they had the same bodies that will be given to us after the resurrection and during the millenium....perfect bodies that will experience no death but not yet glorified. It was in this state that they could walk in the Garden and converse directly with God because they were without sin. Being in this state it was impossible for Adam and Eve to have children, therefore impossible to complete the commandment to go forth and multiply. Adam and Eve were as children, innocent of sin but also with no free agency because they did not know the difference between good or evil , they had to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil so they could gain their agency...but by doing so they were banished from the Garden....and they became mortal and subject to dying, which is the first death. Also, because they were banished from the Garden they were thrust out of the presence of God which is the second death ...however they were now able to have children and fulfill Gods commandment....Adam and Eve fell from the Garden so mankind could be! And Gods plan of salvation was to provide us with a Savior to over come the first death, by the resurrection and the second by the atonement so we can go back to the presence of the Father. I hope that helps explain a little for you! Thank you. I think I have it better now.
  21. I am asking why they would recite a prayer."they" as in the LDS people she said she was with....
  22. I think you are confused about my post...When I say addicted... I mean addicted not habit.
  23. scissors and five
  24. Ya.. I am getting really confused... :S Is there another member here that can help me? I am not sure this way of explaining things is working for me.
  25. Yes. Also with that, please correct me if I am wrong. If I remember correctly, when I studied with Mormons briefly I think we said the Our Father Prayer? If I am remembering that right. If so then why is that prayer relevant? (((I really gave a basic and incomplete run down of Catholics and Jehovas Witnesses. There is much more to it then what I mentioned.))) (((Sabran. I remember as a child doing that "Catholic Cheer." I use to get a little confused so I would wait until I saw what everyone else was doing. I can't tell you how many times I started to fall asleep or how sore my knees where from kneeling on those poorly padded minature benches (can't remember what they are actually called,,lol.) ))) That is WEIRD. Why would they say that one? We arn't supposed to recite prayers....
