Sweden peaceful? You really don't want to get me started on that one. Also, the last thing I would expect to hear from anyone who knows anything about the past relationship between the Mormons and the US government is that only the government should own guns. Also, I'd really endorse people watching John Stossel's "Scaring Ourselves to Death". If I recall right 70 children die each year from drowning in mop bucket water -- and what's the death toll for school shootings in 2 years, 29? Aside from bullying which is a big problem in US schools (and gets little attention in the press) you are far safer in school than on vacation outside of school. Please people, get a grip -- the media focuses on the sensational and that which will catch audience shares in the market. It's actually the same concept as porn overall. However, things that are truly dangerous, and kill many, many people often is ignored in the corporate media while extremely rare incidents get pumped up way out of proportion to what they truly pose as threats to the population. I fail to see how the past relationship with church and the US government is relavent to today. I mean whats in the past is in the past and it not accuring now. As for the media throwing things out of purportion as far as the school shooting go it maybe, But i would like you to say that to a mother who lost a child due to a crazy psycho who had easy access to semi atomatics. I also find it weird how you fail to ignore the very reason that crime is up so high in this country. The very reason its so high is because of the easy access to guns. I dare anyone to go to the worst parts of the US and see the affects that guns have had in the worst parts of LA and see how much violence and murders happen each day, I dare anyone to tell a mother or parent whos son or daughter has been murdered and shot at do to a drive by shooting that it is your patriotic right to have a gun. As far as im concerned its all worthless junk!

the thing i dont get is what possible good comes from owning a gun?(and dont say to protect home and family b/c statistics show usually those people who own guns are less likely to shoot an intruder and more likely to accidently shoot a family member) I totally agree with the above statement but u have to admit that there would be less school shooting if guns were either restricted or the laws were tighter. I mean no wonder there so much crime in the us because its so easy to get a gun. GUns are only made for one thing and thats killing people, there was no other purpose behind it and no other reason for it. keep it out of the hands of civilians and leave it in the hands of law enforcement. I mean look how peaceful sweden is!

well to come to the defence of those who dont eat family dinner together (me being one) There are other ways that families can spend time together and appreciate each other. I mean personally for us family dinner isnt really a big thing, and for us the only time we really sit together as a family is during holidays, and we live in the same house. But there are many other times we spend together although as most people do find the older you get the more you start to drift away a little and start beginning your own lives.

Are You 'on Fire' For Jesus? Ready For Battle?

sounds more like a cult to me...not a religion -
okay so I was talking with my cusin on msn yesterday, and we somehow got into the discussion about the temple in toronto. anyways he told me that the angel moroni had to be replaced once, because some teenagers shot at him with pain ball guns. so i was wondering has anyone else heard about this type of vandalism towards the church temples, i personally hope not because i would hate to believe this is pretty common.

family day ! now thats interesting, Personally our family hasnt sat down and eaten a dinner together since forever....but i do think its a good idea. Maybe it should be a national holiday LOL

I personally dont think how anyone can condemn a whole race or creed on the actions of a few...i mean have any of you ever read the qoran? or are most of you only judgeing a religion based on what media tells you and what the news tells you. If anyone has actually taken the time to look up some history they would know that no religion is really free of violence. I mean the catholics had the crusades, that was against the persians and arabian country (i believe) and even the mormonanism has history of violence in the BOM, i mean lets not forget what the nephites did that caused them to fall. MY overall point in this is that NO the pope should not have said those things at all, secondly the muslim attorities should do more of an effort in addressing the media that they disagree with all this violence instead of staying silent. Why wasnt this pope more like john paul 2...that was a good man who tried and narrow the patch between all religions, non of us has the right to redicule or judge another persons beliefs

Dr.T you are right about that but what i originally wanted to say with the comment i made earlier "when the world ends there are not going to be any borders." I was originally trying to say we will be separated by different stages of glory if you will, and rember those of a higher glory are not bound by there own worlds but can visit those who are in lessor glory then they are. anyways we can argue till the cows come home i just wanted to say that we should be compassionate to those who are coming here and not let this become a hateful argument of one glass of people against another. just to clear things up a little, now im going to lay down cause my head hurts and im still sick :) take care

I believe those are worlds not borders...plus would it honestly big such a big deal if it were europeans immigrating here and not mexicans?

I have no idea where you got the idea that terrorist are coming from the canadian border because that is completely false. I guess you forgot about the ones who came across your border in 1999, who were going to blow up (i belive it was something in seattle) on the eve of 2000. Ya it was big news then...has been forgotten since 911, I have yet to visit Canada and i hope i get to some day Okay as a born and raised canadian who is now living in california i feel i have to defend the policies of my country :) (as i hope to become prime minister someday there lol ) but as for the alleged terrorist who crossed the border in 2000 i cant really comment on that since I have no information on it, all i can really say is that no system is perfect, but where was the US immigration when they crossed the border from canada to the USA. dont you think they should have stopped them as well, I mean not all intelligence is perfect. What i dont like hearing is the USA blamming canada for there policies of being to liberal on immigration. Having lived in canada and now living in the US you can definatly see the differance in culture from both countries. the USA is more immigrate and assimilate where as the canadian goverment and canadians are encouraged to bring there culture and add it to the Canadian culture, thus canada has gained a numerous reputation as being a very muti cultural country where segregation is not an issue. I for the immigration issue i mean this is really becomming not a issue of immigration but is slowly becoming an issue of race. I can tell you for sure that people have just looked at me and told me to get out of there country and go back to central america, just because i look a certain way they atomatically assume. I mean just curious but how many people here actually support the so called minute men? Who in my oppinion are just another KKK. anyways my final point is that as members of the church you should be considerate to all people and races one is not better then another and we should be very considerate in the ways we address this situation, i mean lets remember that when the world ends there arent going to be any borders right

HI marty First off I really admire your courage as far as at least addressing this problem and confronting him about it, most woman would not. Second I read a comment earlier saying something about the fact that if your giving him what he need or something like that. And i just want to say IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU AND YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTLY SHOULD NOT BLAME YOURSELF FOR HIS ACTIONS. and i stress that literally since i can see that it has taken a seviere toll on you already, since you mentioned it starting to affect your self esteem. there is no excuse for a man to covent another woman other then his own wife, this is not the was of a priesthood holder and its not the way a proper member of the church should act. Secondly i heard a lot of people talk about going to the bishop..i would actually wait on that and go to a relationship counsilor instead since the bishop does not have any experience that a therapist does. I mean have you told him how it makes you feel? have you told him how its hurting your self esteem. I actually view this as a serious problem because even though he hasnt done anything the fact that he doesnt want to acknowlege it, and gets made everytime you mention it shows that his intentions when he looks at other woman are more then innocent. if seeing a relationship therapist doesnt work i would then talk to the bishop or a close friend who is in the stake counsil if thats a option to go and confront this situation in the privacy of your home. NO person should feel like second best in a marriage or any relationship. i hope this work out for you and becomes better :)
