While it is nice when parents contribute to weddings, it should not be expected. Also would you want this guy to contribute as he seems likely to be the person who would hold it over you. You should be lead by your future wife if she wants rid of him support her, if she wants a relationship with him support her, if she wants therapy to deal with the past support her. If you feel you can not support her then no you shouldn't marry her, for her sake as well as yours. You don't have to be a 'rescuer' to support some one

My brother lost his daughter when she was just 6 months old, she was blessed and I would hope Heavenly Father will have let her in to the celestial kingdom seeing as she did not have time to prove herself worthly or otherwise. My question is will she be the same age or will she have aged? Do people stay the same age? As they didn't get a chance to be sealed to their daughter will her sprit still be there for them or will heavenly father send her to another earthly body?

If you don't believe you don't believe you can not make yourself believe. If the gospel isn't making you happy leave church life is too short to be miserable. If it is just you feel you have sinned to much or what ever then I would say the atonement gives anyone who is truly repentant forgivness. So there is a way back

The sexual abuse thread got me thinking. I believe when converts are interviewed for baptism they have to answer questions about serious criminal convictions. If they answered honestly that they were a convicted pedophile but had served their time and are obviously now free. Will they be given callings with children? Also if the bishop knows a member is a convicted sex offender can they be restricted in their callings? I trust the leadership but when it comes to the safety of my son I will never trust any one 100%. Are there background checks on youth leaders etc?
