  1. If I had been called to teach the High Priest - well that would have been interesting especially since I'm technically still a recent convert. But if you want a lesson experience I'm sure that can be arranged.
  2. Alright now I got to go find those. as for unusal snack - i don't really have any other then Jello powder on my fruit
  3. So I'm being called to be on the relief society planning commitee and to be a visiting teacher (knew teachigg would be in there somehow)
  4. From what I understand the baptisms at the temple are done for those who died without being baptised. I belive all living baptisms are done at the local stake center. As for seeing the inside of the temple - when new temples are built and I believe rededicated they have an open house that the public can go to (including non members) there is a local temple opening near me in August so the temple has been a major talking point in my ward. - Perhaps you can see if there is one coming near you or being rededicated.
  5. It sounds like you got a lot going on. Just a few things I wanted to add. I get the need to feel at home at church - part of what I think helps with that is to get involved - have the missonaries over for a meal or sign up to help with the ward's service project. - For me, I'm going to the lds mid-singles convernce simply to make friends. I struggled with doing so because i work friday night - get off to go to an all day confernce and back to work another overnight (there is a three hour break where we can rest or go to an activity - I'll be sleeping) I never felt pressured into being baptised - but I can see how it happens as the missionaries are young and eager to convert. My missionaries were pretty fresh - one is about 6 months in and the other one had only been out a month when first met.
  6. or you could move to Arizona and not have to deal with the time change.
  7. I will - the meeting is on Tuesday morning. Although I've a feeling I'm going to be called to some sort of teaching.
  8. you know as a recent convert myself, I know how hard it can be to resist temptation. For me, I don't like coffee so I can resist it. where I'm tempted by tea (raised in a southern household - tea was always on the table. We will make stumbles along the way. I wouldn't make a point to go to the bishop right now unless convicted by the holy spirit BUT I would be honest if the Bishop asks you where you are struggling.
  9. So my bishop pulled me aside at Sacrament to ask me to schedule a meting with his secretary because he has a calling for me. I'm nervous but excited as I'm one of those people who just can't sit in a pew, I have to serve.
  10. Not a programer but I work nights and all I can say is an old trick I was taught Pour some sugar into orange juice - it will give you energy real quick and it's better then caffine. I put 4 packets of sugar into 8 oz of oj and i'm good to go.
  11. Update: I have now been Baptised, will be confirmed in 14 hours from the time of this posting
  12. From what I've seen it's the same in the opposite as well, It's basic human nature. Forget trying to "fix" - Take it to Heavenly Father and He'll bring it to what He would have and it will be just right.
  13. Dustin - That's the thing about major sins in our life. We will never feel worthy, and we really are not but IT'S the HOLY SPIRT in us that makes us clean and worthy again. the devil is wily and knows your weak points. He's going to tell you that you are not worthy and never will be because he wants to keep you in his camp. He doesn't want you to get right with Heavenly Father.
  14. you know what might help - Play the games with him. I used to get so mad when my boyfriend would be off and spend all day playing video games. Then I realized that what I really wanted was to spend time with him doing something together. I started playing that game and oddly enough we haven't played it in awhile.
  15. Update: I had my Baptismal Interview today - everything is set in place for me to be Baptized on February 18th, and confirmed on the 19th.
  16. well that works if you are male - females however are not supposed to be retraining men - it's not very submissive of us.
  17. Oohh looks like I'm going to be busy - just a note Johnny Lingo was on the tube of you not too long ago. It's how I first saw it.
  18. Admin: if this is not the right forum please move So the date of my Baptism is set for February 18th, (tentatively) and I have my baptismal interview on the 14th of February. Confirmation will be on the 19th.
  19. *sigh* I find it hard to believe you are a bad apple but if you say so... I think what makes Honeycrisp apples good is the slight pear taste.
  20. On the not having money to move out - i feel you on that but you can live on a minimum wage job and still live not with your parents. I make just over minimum wage and yet I make it by living with roommates in a roomshare situation. (We share a house, seperate bedrooms) - my guy does the same and he is working minimum wage. Yeah, you have to give up the luxuries but it can work well.
  21. Oh I agree with the granny smiths - used mostly in pies and baked goods. Ahh honeycrisp so you are hearty and good in salads.
  22. Giving up smoking is a hard thing to do - keep at it though wven when stress comes back. I've watched mg brother try to quit and then get stressed out and nope. The hardest part for me will be giving up tea - I grew up on it. I am meeting with the missionaries, the elders will be coming tomorrow to start the first lesson although they are awear and will be talking woth me further about baptism.
  23. ahh I too have a failed marriage - as in I failed to get married.
