Strange, didn't Byod K. Packer make some statements on this subject a while back?

I guess my comment seems somewhat out of context and harsh now that they Old Testament passages have been removed from the original post.

Say what? Were quotes out of the scriptures taken out of a post? Why?

I have removed the word of god myself as my fathers word is far to strong, and there are those that would try to make light of it.

But i will with the help from the holy ghost protect it from those that would make light of it, and look to turn it into an argument.

Sorry to those that do believe in the truth and straight forward approach of those words.

At the time I made the comment about shrimp, there were quotes from Old Testament referencing homosexuality, but they have since been removed by the original poster because he didn't intend to make this into an argument.

I have a question: Why are so many people on the first page showing "User removed - Banned" as their user name? :o Did I miss something?

Yeah, that confused me too. Anyway, i cant say i completely understand where homosexuals come from, But as a person that struggles with porn addiction, i can understand alittle. For a long time, i justified my sin and tried to convince others, using humour to my way of thinking. Even though, deep down inside, i knew it was wrong.

Once i stopped lying to myself, i had a fighting chance. I feel that homosexuals have a similar problem, if abit more so. I know that my lustful feelings towards women are no better than those of my homosexual brothers and sisters. As a sinner myself, an imperfect human, all i can do is do my best, just as these others must do. If we fail, his failure is no worse than mine, they are the same.

I live by a simple set of rules. Love God with all my heart, mind, body and spirit. And love my fellow brothers and sisters likewise. Leave the judging of others to God, he is far more qualified than i. So if everyone doesnt mind, im going to love my brothers and sisters, even if they are dirty nasty heterosexuals. :D

If I remember correctly, all those posts were done by one person who is now apparently banned (I would assume?). I would say who, but I think that might be against the rules since his name was removed already, but I don't think it was because of this thread.

Heavenly Father loves gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people just as much as He loves heterosexual people. Even if a person sins, He loves them just the same. He tries to convince people to repent not because He is angry or disgusted by them, but because He wants them to be happy, and sinful behavior leads to unhappiness.

Many more heterosexual sins are committed every day than homosexual sins. Why obsess about gays?

Very true. The topic should have been: "Heavenly Father on Homo & Hetero Sexual Sins"

I am sure Homosexuals also sin in other areas besides the sexual. Am I right here? :D

Correction here if I am wrong. I believe President Hinkley made a statement regarding this subject. He stated the church(s) position, the Lord's Position. I do not understand why this would be a debate? A Prophet gave us Heavenly Father's answer on the matter.

I never meant that comment as a criticism of the LDS faith in any way, as I am well aware of the concept of continuing revelation. I was merely pointing out that it is rediculous to take everything in the Old Testament as the unchangable word of God and use that as sole justification to say things are wrong, since obviously I know most Mormons and even most Christians (who do not believe in continuing revelation) today do not follow every instruction in the Old Testament.

Believe it or not, my intended point was pretty much what you just posted. I guess it was too subtle.

DigitalShadow,

No I got it, and I agree with you about the Old Testament. We clearly don't offer animal sacrifices to God any more either. I guess I was just taking the opportunity to reinforce the concept of living prophets and continuing revelation.

It is clear that some principles are unchangeable. Murder, for instance, has been, and ever will be abominable to God. Living the Law of Chastity has been reinforced in every time and dispensation as an unchangeable principle of righteousness, and true disciples of Christ receive it by way of covenant.

I guess it just highlights the need for living prophets to keep us in the know, or we might abandon truths that are vital to our salvation. That would pretty much describe a major characteristic of general apostasy.

Egads,

Out of the blue someone starts a thread obsessing about gay behavior.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. What would Freud say?

And your point is snow ?

My point is that you ought to focus on your own sins and get your nose out of other people's bedrooms. However, it is noteworthy that you the bedrooms you stick your nose into are gay bedrooms.

I think you got a little too personal there, Snow. And for the record, Freud would have said that he was obcessed with his father's relationship with his mother, as that was exactly what Freud was obcessed with.

Snow i am deeply shocked at what seems to be sum kind of allegation pointed towards myself, from someone who has been around this forum for so long.

I do not know what i have done, all i can remember doing was Quoting some words from the Bible, i am sorry for that, i even removed them because they appeared to be causing some upset.

Yes, you ought to be sorry but I hardly believe you are shocked.

It's an embarrassment to our religion when it's adherents start bashing other people's morality out of the blue instead of worrying about their own sins.

Could a moderator please ask this guy what he is going on about, because he has lost me completely.

Just because he has so many posts does not allow him to talk about me in such a bad way, i am shocked that no moderator has said nothing about him implying things about me in this way.

Thank you

completely uncalled for Snow, i am sorry you have such a nasty mind, i am also sorry that this is such a sore subject for you

I agree with Snow. Stay out of other people's bedrooms, and "pussy foot" around in your own.

please tell me what i have done, yes i have sinned and i am trying to correct myself and follow a straight path, i really did not know this would be such a sore subject for some people to deal with and for this i am truly sorry, i am also sorry for posting the words of my father in heaven, which i removed when i realised it was causing contention to some members in this forum.

I removed took them away from here and it is i who may or may not be answerable for it, i removed them to STOP people getting angry about them, so again what have i done that is so very wrong.

Hi, first let me say how sorry i am for causing the bad feelings that have emerged in this thread, it was not my intention, and for this i ask for all your forgiveness.

I have done what i should have done before even starting the thread, i have prayed to heavenly father about it, and through the holy ghost my heart filled with love and the intense feeling that i did not need to ask as i already knew, and that is that our father loves every one of us, and so long as we follow Jesus and not our desires all will be well for "ALL" of his children.

Again i ask for your forgiveness, if this is possible, i promise to prey before opening my big mouth.

I have learned something today, and that is how easy it is to cause contention to those i love.

Jim,

You have nothing to be sorry for. It is people themselves who cause the "bad feelings".. I don't think I saw you with a gun to their head.

You brought up a topic that affected you. That is what this is all about. Just look at the other titles that are out there right now on this board:

How about fornication and adultery? ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

Are there sins that baptism can't wash away? ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

Gay Marriage? ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

Church Responds to California Supreme Court Same-Sex Marriage Decision

I am sure someone is in the bedroom on these topics as well.

...Shocking isn't it.

Let me explain it real slow like for you....

1. Every one's a sinner.

2. Since lusting in one's heart is a sin, every one is or has been a moral (sexual) sinner.

3. One ought to be concerned with their own morality instead of demonizing other's for their morality.

4. Anyone who obsesses about what other people do in their bedrooms has issues.

5. Anyone who obsesses about what gay people do in their bedrooms has even more issues.

6. Our religion prides itself on positive promotion. As a missionary I never once bashed another church while promoting our own. It great to positively promote the virtues we strive towards. Demonizing gays is another matter.

7. People that gay bash out of the blue look like backwards haters.

8. When backwards haters are members of the Church, it makes the rest of us look bad.

9. I would have thought you could have deduced the above from my first post.

10. Am I speaking slowly enough for you?

11. That you passionately are concerned about homosexual sex is your own concern. I am more concerned about you sharing it on a public message board with LDS in it's name.

Let's keep the condescending spirit out of it, please. Yes, there are subjects, posts and replies that are questionable, but let's treat each other more kindly. Thank you.

Snow, i have tried so hard to make my apologies, i have admitted i was wrong to make this thread.

You have so much hate in your words i cant believe you yourself are saying them on a "LDS" forum.

I have asked for your forgiveness that is all i can do, if you are unable to forgive then that is your prerogative.
