Dispensations

I am new to this whole Posting on a Forum thing but was told to come here by a friend. I have always been curious about the dispensations of Time, and the seals of time in the revelations. My question is, if the prophet knew the millenium was coming say he knew the year, (no man can know the day nor the hour but a man might be able to know the Month or Year maybe). Would he tell the church, if yes how would he say it? And if No what would they say in order to prepare us without telling us.

I guess I'm good for a comment. I don't think he would tell the Church. I don't think he'd need to. What IS needed is his comments, teachings and policies that are designed to help us prepare for the event. As we listen and follow, we become more able to see for ourselves (as the Bible tells us) to know when the season is at hand.

Don't forget that we do not know how many dispensations there have been in history. It is not doctrine to say that we are in the seventh dispensation. The Dispensation of the Fullness of Times yes, and perhaps the last one, but not the 7th. (See Bible Dictionary for documentation) Therefore, perhpaps tying this in to the winding up scenes and to the Dispensation per se has not historically been as easy as it may seem. As a type, if we know the season (as a women who travaieth in childbirth - e.g., no man knoweth the day nor the hour but the 'time' of the birth as a season as Zechariah says), not to mention the we would hang ourselves with the date if we knew it, we can't even get our home teaching done since we know we have until the 'end' of days - oh I mean the month. HEE HEE.

Would you change anything if you knew the year? What do you think would happen if we were told the year from the prophet (Not likley to happen) P.S. I think the prophet knows all of the events and has seen enough to know that we are pretty darn close. I have heard of those talking about the times ahead say that we are in the transition time between the sixth and seventh seals. It would not then be to much to say that we might be in the half hour of silence. We might be closer. My institute teacher thinks decades, Others think more, I think Less. We certainly can say that we don't know. Leading us to justifiably say that we can not criticize those who are striving to read the signs and prepare. For if we had a hundred people in a room and asked them all the pick a year of the second coming I would bet that someone would be pretty close.

My opinion is..we should be prepared at all times. Not just for the 2nd coming but for now as well. We never know from day to day what will happen to us. Life can be taken away in the blink of an eye..Would we have been prepared then?
