Doing some college shopping (finding the right school) right now and trying to find some actual reviews. Problem is all the sites i find when i "google" either only review big state and prestigious private schools.I.E. U of M and Princeton. Or the review is just an ad for the school itself. Anyone know a good site to real reviews of the smaller privates schools. I.E Southwestern

another good website to look at that will not only be helpful for looking at schools, but everything you could ever begin to think about relating to college, is collegeconfidential.com's forums. i loved them, and i work on a thread for my school, unofficially of course. i'll give you my screen name in a PM if you happen to get onthere. the link directly to the forum is:

If you want to maximize your financial aid opportunities, you want to find a college that's GOOD in your area of study that WANTS YOU. I said "GOOD", not "Great".

So many colleges have a LOT of money to give away for scholarships and grants that they need to find good students to give the money to.

I'd find a college advisor (who charges a fee) to help you find a good school, complete your FAFSA (correctly!) and maximize your financial aid options.

If you DON'T go through something like this (and you have to help pay for college) then imagine the impact that decision can have on your future retirement.

I don't know how it works in the US do you have something along the lines of a Student Union/Association? Ours put out alternative prospectus' so you don't just get the glossy side of college life.
