Justice Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) If you're watching the news about the Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas area where there is 1-2 inches of ice, and hundreds of thousands are without power... I'm there. We haven't had power since Tuesday morning (is now Friday night). We made the trip to my parents house this weekend so we could enjoy power and a hot shower. They expect that power will be out at least 2 more weeks where I live. So, I won't be around much. Take care and see you when power is restored. Edited January 31, 2009 by Justice Quote
Palerider Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Here in Southern Missouri where I live, we have 4 inches of sleet and 3-4 inches of snow on top of the sleet. Quote
Justice Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 Every single tree you can see in the areas I mentioned have some damage. On too many to count, just looking in any one direction, the top of the tree has broken off and fallen to the ground next to the tree. It really is devastating to see. You'd be amazed at what kind of damage 1-2 inches of solid ice can do. Nearly every power line is stretched to failure. They are dragging on the ground. Quote
Palerider Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I have seen some trees.......the southern part of our stake was hit with ice.....pretty bad... Quote

Wingnut Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 My husband's cousins in Louisville have ice, too. They've got power, but a lot of people in their ward don't. Quote
