jclarke Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Well, this is my first post but I have been reading everyone elses posts for a while. Who has read the February Ensign? I just read the February Ensign articles on adoption. I loved it!!! Most articles on adoption are only about the adoptive parents. I loved reading about the point of view from both birthparents, the birth grandparents, and the adopted child. I am a birthmother and my daughter will be 17 at the end of the month. So I am probably a little biased. I would love for the article to also go into more detail about the adoptees biological siblings and how it affects them. I now have 3 other children and no where can I find a book or article about how these children deal with there sister being adopted. How the adoption now affects them on a daily basis. I wish this was in the New Era also. Jeannette Quote

prospectmom Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I am a birth mother through LDS social services , my story while it has some good parts my daughter is reunited with the rest of her family and its like she had never been gone. She had a good life for awhile but when her Adopted DAd died all went to ++++... I have anger as her life wouldn't have been as bad had I kept her... she is no longer active, nor is her adoptive mom or sister... She always knew she was missing something and when she turned 18 she called me. We have been close since... she loves her brothers... I really am not sure about my decision... I feel a bit ripped off by her Adoptive parents... ( I gave them a gift how could they, the mom screw it up so bad... Why if I did the right thing would God let it get so screwed up..) anuway working on those negative feelings about it and feel really lucky she is a part of our lives now. Quote

I recommend that you and her read it. Edited February 13, 2009 by Book_of_Mormon_Warrior Quote
