Palerider Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 as Ronnie use to say....The Taxpayer is someone who works for the Federal Gov't but does not have to take the Civil Service Examination... Quote
Elphaba Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 as Ronnie use to say....The Taxpayer is someone who works for the Federal Gov't but does not have to take the Civil Service Examination...That is not only very true, but very funny as well. However, it's not as if Buffett doesn't know what he's talking about. After all, he is the second richest man in the country (Bill Gates is the first), none of which was inherited. He built his fortune by, among other things, a firm grasp of economic issues.I realize many economists adamantly disagree with him, and I believe their opinions hold as much weight as his. But you don't become the second richest man in the country if you're ignorant about economics. So, I don't think his opinion should be so easily dismissed.Elphaba Quote

They ran into money problems during the last year and Warren Buffet stepped in and bought them. He also owns Forest River RV Company...I always thought because of him buying Coachmen that the life of Travel Trailer Camping and Rv's was not dead just yet. Quote
Elphaba Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 Pale is scratching his head trying to see if he told Elphaba that Warren is wrong or crazy....hhhhmmmm.....:pSorry Pale,I thought your comment about not having to take the civil service exam meant Buffett's opinions were not to be taken seriously because he was also a taxpayer who hadn't, metaphorically speaking, taken the exam. I may be obnoxious, but I do try to admit when I am wrong, and so, I admit I was wrong. The RV Dealership I work for sells mostly Coachmen RV's. Moksha Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 ... that the life of Travel Trailer Camping and Rv's was not dead just yet. There will always be a need for alternate forms of housing. I imagine that gas prices will have a very determining effect on the sales for these behemoths. Quote

Not by being a smart buisness man. Source: personal knowledgeWhere he was smart is that after he made millions he hired people who were smart and ruthless... he diversified and has his finger in a lot of pies. Quote

bytor2112 Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Buffet may have agreed with TARP I and TARP II.......but I highly doubt he would agree with the alleged "emergency" stimulus bill or the omnibus bill. Quote
