Guest dzd-n-cnfused Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 ok...here goes. i was a member of this site some months back, and often thought long and hard about intro'ing myself...and put it off for reasons i felt valid.....mostly fear. I am a 57 year old male, recently married to a wonderful woman. born in 1952, a baby boomer, and brought up in a time when sexual abuse was talked about, especially abuse to a boy from adult women. It was a pat on the back and an "atta boy", but even though it was never violent, it certainly did leave a very large mark on my self esteem ( which by the time i was a teenager was non-existant) as well as my view of women and my role with them, which was basically for their pleasure only. Finally went to therapy for it (in house), as well as my abuse of drugs (high school was hippie era). Took a lot to deal with the issues i was always trying to bury. I did feel some kind of vindication when a few cases of abuse by women were reported... a kind of "FINALLY, it's being exposed" because its been going on for as long as men have been doing it, but never talked about. I was a serious student of religion all my life and always felt a closeness with Jesus, and finally found the church in 1998. It felt like coming home. So, i guess thats what i want people to know about me for now. If you want to know more, just ask. Quote
