t2d22009 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Hi there everybody, I'm looking for the author and disc year of an EFY song whose chorus sings "My Lord, My God, My best friend". It's a duet and the first words of the song are "When I am weak and cannot find strength from within ...". I do not have the song title, although I can suppose it should be something like "My Lord My best friend" or "My Lord, My God", but it doesn't match any existing titles... Thanks for your help And a warm hello from France! Quote
eternalpromise516 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 t2d22009, do you an idea of what year this song was from, or a general idea? i'm going to be working through the different EFY cd archives that i've managed to find so far and see if i can't locate this song. thanks! -EP Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 (edited) Actually, on the file property it says 12/11/2005, so surely the song was released before that date. Thank you so much for taking a little bit of your time to look into it. Edited June 1, 2009 by t2d22009 Thanking! Quote
eternalpromise516 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 ok! that helps! i'm on and off here the rest of the night, and will post again if i have an update. i may have found a lead already this afternoon, so i'll look into it a little better after i get the dinner dishes done Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 Oh wonderful! Thank you so much for your efforts. Good luck with the dishes. Not my favorite part of the day, for sure! Quote
tarnalina Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I've been looking for that song too. Someone told me it was from 'Wither we should go' but I haven't been able to find any album with that title. I'd love to know where it's from. I have all the lyrics, but no idea where to find the song. Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Hi Tarnalina! Could you in that case post the lyrics here? Maybe it will help other people that are looking for it too. Do you have also the song's music sheet by any chance? Thank you for your precious informations. The hunt carries on! :) Quote

Hemidakota Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Yes...there are few that brings tears to one eyes. I do not have the 2005 on the external drive but may have the CD's since my daughters do attend. Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Well I do have the 2005 CD, and unless we don't have the same CD version, the song I'm looking for is not on it. Thank you though. I'm starting to think it might not be an EFY song, although it says so on the file name... Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Okay!!I uploaded the song here : My Lord My God - Music HostingPlaying the song should start automatically. If it rings a bell, that would be great, I'm still looking for the exact title, author and/or CD name and year.Thank you. It's such a beautiful song. :) Quote
Hemidakota Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 That is not MY LORD MY GOD. We have a Hawaiian sing this song and its beauty sent chills within my spirit when I heard him sing it. Quote
Hemidakota Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 However, being played on the BYU radio of the one I have spoken about, this rendition maybe someone else's. Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Ok ! Thanks for the info, so do you know by chance the title of this song ? Or the hawaiian singer you're talking about ? Any lead could be useful. I wonder how it happened to be categorized as an EFY song ! lol! Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Or give me a hint as to when you heard it last on BYU radio, I then could retrieve all the infos from their archives. Quote
tarnalina Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I don't have sheet music, just an old tape that has the song on it, and I have no idea where it came from. GIRL: When I am weak And I can't find strength from within I call his name And find my strength in him BOY: When I am lost And i don't know where to begin The light of the Lord leads the way I'll ever trust in him TOGETHER: My Lord, my God My Lord, my best-friend My Lord, my God GIRL In your arms of love, don't ever let me go TOGETHER: I feel his love I know in my heart that he lives The spirits voice testifies of him BOY: My Lord, my God (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) My Lord, my best-friend (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) My Lord, my God (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) BOY: In your arms of love, don't ever let me... TOGETHER: go, please hear me, speak peace to my soul, be near me GIRL: Without you Lord, there is no light, in the world ? (don't quite know that line can't hear it on the old tape recording) BOY: My Lord, my God (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) My Lord, my best-friend (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) My Lord, my God (GIRL- My Lord, my God, my best-friend) TOGETHER: In your arms of love, don't ever let me go Quote
t2d22009 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Thank you so much for taking the time to put it up here! Great Lyrics! Quote
Daeld Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 The song has a sad side to it THe music was composed by Bro William Schwartz III and published for the first time in the Perth Australia Mission CD (Whither we should go). One of his fellow missionaries wrote the words to it. Unfortunately, he is no longer fully active in the Church (last I heard!). The original female singer was Leanne Hussey (also a fellow missionary) and the male singer was the composer of the lyrics (who probably does not want to have his name posted here;)). I have the original CD but I don't know who owns the copyright. I suppose that if you have heard it and have recordings of it that Bro Schwartz remained active in the Church and has shared his wonderful talents. This heartens me so much to see you all interested by it. I've been thinking about the Bro who wrote the lyrics. Such inspiring words and yet... Anyway, I haven't listened to the song for a couple of years and I took it out again yesterday. I was online today searching for some sign that Bro Schwartz had remained in the church and I found you. Thank you. Quote

t2d22009 Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Thank you so much Daeld for those infos. The reason why I started this thread is because my bestfriend, who lives in Australia sent me that song and she just loves it. I've been listening to it for the past three days and I must say, it's a good one! :) I wanted to know more. Thank you all for your input and your efforts. Music is truly inspiring. Whether the author remained active or not in the Church doesn't take away the fact that his work has been strengthening and uplifting to many. And I'm sure our Heavenly Father will know how to reward him and bless him for that. Quote
