talisyn Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Does *anybody* take PETA seriously any more?Someone does because the Shriner's Circus last night in Twin was suppose to have elephants but PETA did their little letter writing thing and the show decided to not include pachyderms this time around Quote
talisyn Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 I would like to state, for the record:All Vegans belong to PETA and PETA represents all Vegans. You see, Vegans do not express agency like you or I. Instead, Vegan is a gestalt hivemind filled with creatures who seek to make you spend your love tickets on things like saving the whales.PETA's wicked plan is apparent: When we are born, we are given only a certain number of love tickets. If we squander them with things like protecting whales and saving the planet, we'll end up killing and eating our parents.PETA: They want us to kill our parents. Then they want us to compost our parents to help atone for what humanity has done to Mother Earth. ztodd Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Serious quesion - why is it so ridiculous to try to promote kindness to insects? Quote
MarginOfError Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Serious quesion - why is it so ridiculous to try to promote kindness to insects? There is kindness to insects, and then there's nearly considering insects to be the same as human. PETA thinks that insects are better than humans. When I'm outside, I won't kill an insect, unless of course it decides to make itself a guest on my body. But once it is on my body, I consider it an act of war and obliterate the sucker. When an insect is inside my house...again, I consider that an act of war. But, if it stays outside and off my person, it is free to live.I will mention also that I think it is cruel and subhuman to torture insects for our own enjoyment. Quote

Just_A_Guy Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Logically, then, any bug that goes into MoE's house is a da**ed bug. Quote

If Shriner's uses the same practices, then for my money I'd say PETA did everyone a favor. Quote

We had last minute tense negotiations to try to avert war. I warned the mosquito not to land on me. I warned it that it was invading what I considered sovereign territory. The mosquito then proceeded to force itself on sovereign territory and attempt to withdraw rich, vital resources from the system.Really, the lack of an open dialogue and its attempts to rob me blind of my resources left no choice. Now, I celebrate VI day: Victory over the Insects. Aesa Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I'm curious, what makes you believe that PETA thinks that insects are better than humans? The thing is that they don't, they see all life as equal. Quote
