Maxel Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) Yes, another Glenn Beck thread. I think the quota's been reached for this month, but if I can push the envelope a little...All this week, Beck's been doing a segment called 'The New Republic', discussing some of (what he thinks are) the more important changes happening in the American Government. This includes the Czars and who they are, the national debt and current recession, further governmental regulation of the media, the civilian military force, and more. The entire section is based on three principles:-Question With Boldness-Hold to the Truth-Speak Without FearHe puts all the 'good stuff' (the pertinent questions he asked, segments on what he said, etc.) all on one page- The New Republic- and I think it's a very good read.Interestingly enough, the White House itself (okay, a representative in the White House) has called Beck during the show more than one time this week. Beck's made some serious, serious allegations against the current czars (more accurately, he exposes the czar's backgrounds). The only response he's gotten is the White House rep saying "Don't call them czars- they're Special Advisors". Edited August 28, 2009 by Maxel Quote
trulykiwi Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Well I have always known Obama's Stance on his marxist an socialist ideals. So this doesn't surprise me. Read his books. It's all there. I knew as soon as he was elected you may be in trouble. I hope I am wrong and it's not quite time yet! Quote

farmer Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I can't take credit for the below diddy but its appropriate I think. Nickles and dimes, nickles and dimes, no one will notice, or care in time, only the trifles, the worries and whines, the usual subjects, so little time, And none to waste, on nickles and dimes. Quote
Palerider Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I listen to Glen Beck from time to time....he does say one thing that I think is true.....he says"if we could remember a politicians record the way we follow our favorite sports team, we would not vote for the biggest majority of politicians that are running........that is so true.. boyando Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I tivo Beck everyday and then erase the show after I have watched it. Hey, were else am I going to get my marching orders? Today or yesterday, I can't say when for sure, he mentioned a bill going through the house that would give the President complete control of the internet in the case of an emergency. Can some one tell me if this is true and what kind of an emergency would need control of the internet? Quote
miztrniceguy Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 yeah...if you say anything he doesn't like!! Quote

rameumptom Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 While I think he gets a little too emotional at times, Much of Glenn Beck's research is decent and useful. I wish more people would separate out the emotion from the facts, and consider what is being shared. I'd really hate to lose our freedoms due to avowed communist Czars and Nancy Pelosi leading Obama's program. Then again, I think that if they cause the collapse of our nation, we Elders will step forward and save the Constitution, developing Zion as we rebuild the nation. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Can someone explain this "Czars" business to me in one paragraph or less? I haven't been following Beck very closely lately. Quote
Maxel Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Beck calls the new Special Advisors to the President 'czars'. In his own words, he describes the power they hold thusly:"They don't need to be confirmed by the Senate; they rarely go before committees; they can claim "executive privilege" when asked to testify, and they're accountable to no one but the president himself."It's a way to circumvent the checks and balances of power in the American government, basically.(Hope that's concise and accurate enough! The link has Beck's basic definition of czars; if you have 5 minutes or so and want a more complete answer.)In regards to Beck's volatile emotions: I think a man like Beck- truly passionate, humble, and well-informed enough to know what he's talking about- is just what a lot of people in this country need to get involved in what the government's doing again (beyond the griping and murmuring against the government). The phrase used lately is that recent events have "awakened a sleeping giant" (of true patriotism) in the American people- I think Beck had a lot to do with that. dorave Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 The sky is the limit for Glenn now, the only possibilty for downfall is himself and staying true to those principles hes set in stone now. I hope him all the best. Quote
rameumptom Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Another danger about the Czars is they do not have to go through a FBI background check. Van Jones is a self-proclaimed radical marxist, who would not have gotten past the security clearance check. Of course, given the people Obama hangs out with (Rev Wright, Weather Underground terrorists, etc), HE couldn't have passed a background check, either. My issue is: none of these people have had to make an oath to defend the Constitution. The President can continue speaking for it, while others under him are seeking to subvert it. Quote
