rengh Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I have been struggling with pornography for some years now. I have talked to many bishops about this. I always go back, al though it is less now, but I feel horrible and terrible because of some of the thoughts I have that can become pedophile like that lead to me looking at similar pictures online that are legal but nonetheless induce pedophile like thoughts. I do not have the guts to tell a bishop I have looked at such images. I feel like i know I will not go to the celestial kingdom if I die right now. I dont know what to do. I can stop, but I feel like I can never tell anyone because of how horrible it is. Quote
tubaloth Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Why do you keep doing it, if you know how "horrible" it is? Is this how you really think or is this how you want to think. There are a lot of other pornography threads, I suggest you seach for some, they all have good advice. Quote
Ruck Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Growing up, I looked at it but once I made a covenant with in the church I actually found a program that blocks out those images on computers and installed it to my computer. Just an idea. Quote
Bini Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Maybe you don't have genuine remorse for your actions? I say this because from your post it seems that you haven't truly acknowledged your addiction. You state "pedophile like" thoughts when really there is no "like" just IS and ISN'T. Regardless of whether the images you view are technically legal. You are still consumed by sexual thoughts regarding children. I think taking full responsibility for your actions start with admitting to yourself what in fact you are doing. And alike any addiction, continue to consult your Bishop and any other guidance counselor that can lead you into the right direction. SHUT OFF your web access until you have self discipline. I know people think that's a joke but it will stop the physical aspect of you googling, downloading and viewing inappropriate content meanwhile. Reevaluate your lifestyle by balancing your daily routine better. Manage your time so you aren't so idle and easily tempted.I send you good vibes in conquering this. It IS doable :] Quote

interalia Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Pedophilia, like all paraphillias, is a psychological condition, and those who struggle with it can benefit tremendously from therapy. I'd find a good therapist locally - perhaps through LDS Social Services, and talk to them about breaking your paraphillic associations. Quote
ladykemma2 Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 sex addicts anonymous. now. Quote
jherre Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 The best advise I can give you is to tell someone you can trust. Satain wants you to keep it in. It gives those images more power. Plus you need a support system. you need someone that you can call when you are having the urge to look. Trust me. YOU CANT KICK THIS ALONE Quote
