Bini Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 The one thing that would keep me from watching that is Jim Carrey himself. I am so totally not a fan.I don't like him either. Hubby and I had that whole "I despise Jim Carrey" conversation last night. But it doesn't take away the fact that the movie IS awesome!Along with Jim Carrey—I can't stand Robin Williams. Quote
Guest Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I give A Christmas Carol in 3D two thumbs up! And don't let Jim Carrey scare you off from seeing this! He does an excellent job of voice-acting and the graphics are just stunning. But probably more importantly, the film stays true to the original story quite well and in various aspects. I do not recommend it for young children, however, as it has some intense and creepy scenes.. In fact, during the show there were a couple kids that started crying because they got scared :[Bini, I HATED that movie! HATED it. With a PASSION! It's supposed to be a Christmas movie. Instead it was a Halloween movie. And I cannot stand horror movies. This was DEFINITELY a horror movie. My nieces and nephews were crying too. I couldn't sleep for 2 days after watching that thing! We saw it on IMAX 3D. And I couldn't get the dropping into the coffin scene out of my head! NOT GOOD! Quote

I grew up on that version and remember Marley and one of the spirits scaring the pants off me! But it stays true to the story. Quote

Relentless Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I can't wait to see Avatar in 3D tonight! This movie looks so AWESOME! Quote
theoriginalavatar Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I'm wanting to see Surrogates this weekend. I've liked most of Bruce Willis' movies and hopefully won't be disappointed by this one. If I don't see this I may opt to see Love Happens. I'm guessing it'll be a chick-flick but I've been known to be a sucker for those too :ĂžAnyway, has anyone recently seen anything at the cinema worth seeing? Or movies you'd recommend renting? I have a nice three day weekend ahead of me :]Movies? Hmmmmm.....I seem vaguely to remember something with that name.....I used to LOVE to go to movies (even to watch the previews) and then something happened.....I think they call it......children. I must be content with my Criminal Minds and CSI and House. Quote
pam Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Oh man..I watch every Criminal Minds show I can find. I'm so hooked on that show. (Perhaps it's watching Shemar Moore - be still my heart) And as far as CSI...has to be CSI NY..though I can put up with the Vegas one. But Miami..bleh...too fake to me and I can't stand David Caruso. Are you a bigger fan of Gideon or Rossi? Quote
pam Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 There's something about the vulnerability of Rossi I like. Quote
Relentless Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Avatar 3D is my new favorite movie. I was in awe the entire time. Can't wait to see it again! Quote
