I married a man who has been a member all his life, but inactive for many years. He would always allow the home teachers (priesthood members who stop by monthly to check on families to see if they need anything) to stop by, so I had some contact with LDS people. One day the missionaries stopped by and asked me if I wanted to learn about the Bible. I did but they pushed me hard to set a baptism date right away. I am not a person that gets pushed, so I told them good-bye. We moved to a new town and new missionaries stopped by after awhile. One was a little older than any of the missionaries I had had before. He had more life experiences which is what I needed to hear. I decided to not hold back and when they asked if I wanted to take the discussions, I told them NO! I said that I thought the LDS religion was too discriminatory. They asked if I would be interested in reading some information from the church. Now being a member for 24 years: was I wrong!!!! I love being a member of this church. Nothing is weird and it doesn't demand anything of me that I don't want to do. My husband I were sealed in the Denver Temple, April 6, 1989. I can't imagine life without the church. Life is hard to deal with somedays as it is. Now I have the church in my life and things are much easier and way more peaceful!!
