Wingnut Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I've only ever been to one concert -- Green Day, with Jimmy Eat World opening. I suspect that given the demographic of this forum, even fewer people have heard of Jimmy Eat World than have heard of The Four Seasons. Incidentally, Churchmouse, are you familiar with Jersey Boys? It's a Broadway musical based on the lives of The Four Seasons.I actually just got home from seeing This Is It, the Michael Jackson movie. I'm not a huge obsessed fan, but I enjoy his music, and figured that, given the opportunity, I'd like to see this show in a theater, rather than just on DVD later. It was well worth it. I also think I'd like to go sometime in the next couple of months to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to see U23D. Quote

havejoy Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I'd love to see Three Dog Night again or Simon and Garfunkle. Quote
Elphaba Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 (edited) P.S. Lookie here Pam! Churchmouse is even older than you!I'm older than Pam, as she often reminds me, and I think he is even older than me by ten years!Elph Edited November 6, 2009 by Elphaba Quote
Carl62 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 In August, I went to see Paul McCartney at FedEx Stadium in Washington, D.C. Best concert I ever saw in my entire life!!!:):) Period, bar none! Would gladly pay the $240 to see him again. Now, if Led Zeppelin ever gets back together (doubtful though, since Robert Plant has officially announced that he is done), that would be my next favorite band I would want to see. Quote
RipplecutBuddha Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 Oh, and AC/DC...can't forget about them... *they're currently stuck in my head...'runaway train...runnin' right off the tracks..'* Quote
Vort Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 If you could tune in anyone (music) on the radio, whom would it be?If Jesus Christ sang, him. Otherwise, I suppose Mozart, as long as it were really Mozart and not someone else playing his music. Or maybe my dad. What group or individual would you pay to see today? No one springs to mind. Possibly Weird Al. yes, I'd probably pay to see him. Possibly Linkin Park. Possibly Metallica...maybe not. Possibly Boston. Possibly the Beach Boys. Okay, and as Carl reminds me, possibly Led Zeppelin. Quote
Churchmouse Posted November 7, 2009 Author Report Posted November 7, 2009 (edited) I'm older than Pam, as she often reminds me, and I think he is even older than me by ten years!ElphIf I'm older than you by ten years, then you are not old.I think age is a lot like size. I've had people tell me "I can't believe you were in the Marine Corps. All the Marines I've known have been big guys". to which I reply "It's not how big you are on ther outside. It's how big you are on the inside that's important".So, I think it's not how old you ARE. I think it's how old you ACT. I kid alot about being old, but until I injured my arm recently, I did 50 pushups everyday. I wonder how many younger guys here can do that. Edited November 7, 2009 by Churchmouse Quote

I was beginning to think Hordak and I were the only ones that ever of Frankie Valli or "The Four Seasons":) Quote
RipplecutBuddha Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Frankie Valli totally rocks. Of course his songs come over the Muzak at work for eight hours, so I've adjusted out of necessity I guess...but I think his stuff is still cool. Even though that kind of falsetto singing is not popular today, he had a set of lungs, no question. Quote
Churchmouse Posted November 18, 2009 Author Report Posted November 18, 2009 The current Broadway play The Jersey Boys is the story of the Four Seasons. I wonder if the person playing Valli can hit those notes? I'll never know. Not many of those shows make it to our hills. We still think the Radio City "Rocketts" has something to do with the space program. Quote
