Iggy Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 I second the chiropractor comment. I had a chiropractor that I was seeing who was really helping me with my headaches, however we were not able to afford for me to keep seeing him. Our insurance doesn't cover the visits. When husband and I finally retire to Oregon, we are going to really miss our chiropractor! Matter of fact, he is the only person/thing about AZ I am going to miss. Though in the town I want to retire to, I do know a fantastic masseuse. She is who I went to to iron out the sore neck, shoulders and headaches. Though she cost a lot more than a Chiropractor - it was 1 hours worth of near bliss! Have you talked with your chiropractor about his fees? Sometimes they will lower them so that you can afford them. You can also try requesting your insurance carrier to cover them. Most will now days. Quote

I had a chiropractor that I was seeing who was really helping me with my headaches, however we were not able to afford for me to keep seeing him. Our insurance doesnt cover the visits.I third it. Reasons why I get migraines are as follows:My defective back - chiropractic helps greatly.Water - I didn't drink enough.Sleep - was always sleep deprived, even if it's only by 30 minutes a night it cumulates. Hormones - it never fails. A few days before my period and during I get migraines.Excedrin - I used to take Excedrin frequently, about 2 to 3 times a day, only to discover that I moved from getting migraines for other reasons and fixing them with Excedrin to I was getting migraines from the caffeine withdrawal when the Excedrin wore off. Excessive stress - I didn't manage my stress well, and it would turn into a migraine which makes life more stressful which would cause more migraines, and a nice vicious loop starts. I had to learn some relaxation techniques and how to manage stress effectively. Quote
Ammonite Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 How expensive is the liquid colloidal mineral drink you get at GNC and Sam's Club?GNC: $20 for a 32oz bottle but I have seen it on Sale for $16. It is a month's supply of Liquid Multi-Colloidal Minerals. I don't recall what I paid at Sam's. I think it was about $17 for the same size bottle. It is a lot cheaper than some internet products, but they claim to be from the purest sources on Earth. I decided that they can't all be right and GNC has a good reputation. Quote

Most will now days.We have talked to the chiropractor about the fees and he is willing to lower them, but it still is more money than we can afford right now. Besides this my chiropractor is in my ward and I don't want to short him on money when I see him on a weekly basis. As for my insurance I have Blue Cross Blue Shield which is rather annoying to get things done through. Basically the specialist has to be covered through BCBS and your doctor has to refer you to them. It is rather annoying how many hoops you have to jump through just to get the healthcare you need.We are going to be moving soon anyway, so I will need to find a new one wherever we end up. Quote
