havejoy Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 We saw this at movie night recently. Wow, it was so very not what I expected. It was better. I wish I could remember who plays the young cop because I'd like to watch something else he's in just to see if he's always so believable. Quote
Lbybug Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 This is one of my favorite LDS movies. Very different, very good.Matthew A Brown plays the young cop. here's the IMDB info on the movie.Brigham City (2001) Quote
beefche Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 I, too, liked this movie. That young cop was the missionary in "Army of God" also done by Dutcher. Quote
havejoy Posted November 20, 2009 Author Report Posted November 20, 2009 I'll have to see "Army of God" soon. Thanks. Quote
RanMan Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I liked "Army of God". I didn't care for "Brigham City". :) Quote
MichaelPAGuy Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 I love Brigham City. I own it on DVD. I really need to re-watch it again sometime. Quote
bytor2112 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 (edited) My wife weeps at the end every time she watches it.....the scene where Bishop refuses the sacrament. I liked the movie. Edited December 5, 2009 by bytor2112 Quote
Prodigal_Son Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I respect that others liked it, but I thought it was tripe. I thought Dutcher simply used the church as a cheap platform for his murder mystery. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Quote

Honor Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Hmm not to be nitpicky but I think it was called God's Army. :) Quote
HiJolly Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I love Brigham City. I own it on DVD. I really need to re-watch it again sometime.Yes. To me, Brigham city is all about the meaning, I mean the real meaning in our personal lives, of partaking of the sacrament. The movie starts and ends with it. God's Army 2: States of Grace was about the atonement. Very powerful. HiJolly Quote
