I'm in bay area now and I'm a Chinese. My wife and I baptised 6+ years ago in san francisco. English is my second language. Please forgive me that sometimes I probably don't explain myself clearly or correctly.

My wife and I kept active in Church these years. We paid our tithings from our paycheck from our employers, our tax returns, our interests and dividends etc. But now we bought a house with paying morgage every month. I know we'll pay the tithing for the house price increase when we sell the house. But we don't own the house. It's like an investment. we pay morgage to the bank. Some members told us that we should deduct the morgage from our income and then pay the tithing. Is that right? What's your suggestion? Thanks!

Welcome to the site. No you don't deduct your mortage payment from your earnings and then pay tithing on the balance.

You pay on your increase which is your paycheck.

Hi welcome. Do search in the forum and you are welcome to write more qestions in forums that suit better than this introduction forum. And please do discuss with others in the forum. Nice to have you here. English is my third language :D

So officially:

Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums.

While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab.
