Lilac Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 The missionaries suggested that we download the Book of Mormon. I think that is a great idea! My husband is (mildly) dyslexic so reading the entire Book of Mormon while working two jobs and having four kids is not happening anytime soon. I thought I could do it but I'm just too technologically illiterate. (the problem is I'm getting old but let's not bring that up) Here is where I'm stuck: I have an iPod Nano. I have managed to download some music from iTunes but it wasn't easy for me. I'm still a little lost doing it but I do have songs so I'm making progress! I found a site but it is says MP3. I don't know what an MP3 is. Is there a better site that you know of? Is it the same as downloading from iTunes? Just sorta follow the prompts? Just plug in the iPod? The missionaries said they would come over and help me but I hate to drag them over (I know they would do it happily but I really hate to bother people) if it is something simple that a post or two could straighten out. If I can't do it at all, I will call them. I really want to be able to do this. Can someone help me out? Quote
beefche Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Lilac, I'm pretty sure you can download it from lds.org. I'll check for you. MP3 is the format that Itunes uses (and many, many other things). Look to see if it says it is compatible with Itunes. Itunes is a very jealous brand and some things aren't compatible. Quote
beefche Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Lilac, go to Itunes and do a search for Book of Mormon. There are several there that are free to download. Quote
beefche Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I just realized that you said you need help in downloading from Itunes. When you open your Itunes on your computer, on the left hand side, you'll see "Itunes store." Click on that. It'll take a little bit to show up. Once it does, it the right top corner, there is a section that says, "search." In that section, type in Book of Mormon, then click on the little q thing. It may bring up a list, click on one of those. Once you do that, it'll ask if you want to subscribe. Make sure it's free (it'll tell you next to the subscribe button), then click on subscribe. Once you do, it'll start downloading. You'll probably have to click on all of them (you can do this all at once, or do one at a time, listen to it, then download again). Once it's downloaded, then you can find it on your Itunes. Go to the left side and click on recently purchased, recently added, or podcasts to find it. Hope this helps! Quote
pam Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I was half expecting to see you post.."Ask Mahone." Quote
beefche Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 P.S. If those things don't work, then I'm out of help. Ask Mahone. Quote
Lilac Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 The Book of Mormon is on iTunes?????? I wasn't expecting that. I guess I don't even know what iTunes really is. OK, I'm surfing over there now. Thank you so much for your help. I'll let you know if it works. Quote
