I have been learning about the LDS beliefs on and off for the past 5 years. I have recently come to accept all of the beliefs of doctrine I have come across. I have come to accept not by faith that what I am told is true, but by reflection of the subject or finding the source of where the belief originated in the scriptures. A lot of questions I asked to people I know either gave a vague answer or that I should go on faith that something is true. Now, I understand faith is unimportant but not every facet should be on faith. I have done my own search and have found the answers I was looking for. These answers come either from the missionaries, BYU web site lectures or F.A.R.M.S (great place).

I have a question for you guys. Is not accepting something on faith when you know there is an answer out there a failure on my part to have faith something is true? I know many things are faith based. I can't prove Joseph Smith snored in his sleep or had red hair. On the same token is using the "you need faith something is true" for the sake of not knowing an answer is in my mind unacceptable.

Yet there are many things Landy that we just don't have the answers for or proof for. So you do have to rely on faith to accept something as true.

Paul stated in Hebrews that faith is the evidence of things not seen. So there must be evidence, whether it is a spiritual confirmation or an intellectual one, or more often, a combination of the two.

not necesserily... we don't get answers all at once generally. Usually you find out one or two things with faith and then you are tested for a while on that faith, and then you learn another, followed by more testing.

Physical evidences (such as those found by FARMS and etc..) are great for supporting faith but are not necessary. Answers recieved from faith go deeper and have more meaning and are more likely to be a greater motivation than physical evidences. (However I like to have the best of both worlds, but just remember that Faith should come first)
