prisonchaplain Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I do not find mocking, parody, sarcasm, baiting, flaming, ignorance, aversion to be good ways to criticise something. Parody is fun for entertainment but as a serious debate item it does not work. Serious debate is an under-appreciated, oft-despised, and dying art, imho. I engaged in some high school debate, and enjoyed it greatly. However, the entire approach to issues simply does not resonate with post-moderns. Parody and sarcasm, on the other hand, are over-recognized and flourishing forms of persuasion, far too influential, imho. Quote

rayhale Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Was King David a great Israelite leader, or was he a murderer and an adulteress? It depends on who you ask, a Christian or a Jew. All of recorded history is bias, that is a fact. A Christian will view the world in a Christian perspective, a Jew will view the world in a Jewish perspective, a secular person will view the world in a secular perspective, and so forth. Quote
