findannivpoem Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 :) Hello Everyone: I am asking for some assistance in preparing for my thirtyieth Anniversary, coming soon. I have searched until I am exhausted and cannot find the particular song lyrics I am seeking. I know we cannot post things on here that are copyrighted so I just need to know where to go to search for them. I would actually like to be able to purchase the song on CD or be able to download it my computer so I can play it for my husband. I want to do this in a legal way and I am not always absolutely sure that I am following that. I hear the song on a popular radio station on Sundays. The basic message of the song is this: It follows a couple from late teenage years, through their life, and as she is preparing to leave this life, her husband realizes that he really does know what love is. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!! Quote
Gwen Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 you can give more info on the song, would help in finding it. about when did it come out, type of music, who sings it, a few of the lyrics. something that will make it a bit more identifiable. Quote
JThimm88 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) I want to do this in a legal way and I am not always absolutely sure that I am following that.In downloading what is considered legally on your computer, you must use a program in which you buy the song -- such as iTunes. Or, you can download it from the internet if you go to Amazon.com, search for the song, and there just so happens to be an MP3 file for download from the CD (Amazon makes some, if not all, of the CDs they sell available for download by individual track for $0.99, as iTunes would). I've used both iTunes and Amazon before, and have found they work just fine and are perfectly legal. :)(Edit) Keep in mind that I don't mean to give the idea that just ANY program that makes you pay is considered legal. Hence my only mentioning iTunes and Amazon.com, as they are 2 reliable sources where you download music, and by my understanding, the original artists of the song still get a part of the profit (as tiny as the amount per song may be, lol), which is what I assume makes them legal sources. john doe Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 How about Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar? Quote
findannivpoem Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 This is the song I most often hear on Sundays on either Kosy 106.5 FM or 1400 AM KSTAR. Those are the only two radio stations I listen to on Sundays. I have heard it other days - probably on those two stations. The song is sung by some guy - older probably. It starts, "Their first touch was at 17...and he thought he knew what love was...their last touch at 85. He knew that He knew what love was. After 68 tears of laughter and tears, he knew that he knew what love was." It goes throughout their life together and at each stage talks about how he thought he knew what love was. I know it heard it on KOSY on March 1, 2010 at 7:53 am because I wrote it down. I never heard the name of the Artist. At another time I heard the name of the Artist and wrote it down. I googled it long ago and found it and then got interrrupted and when I returned the page was gone and I have searched a lot since and never found it again. I have searched Christian Music, Regular Music and anything and everything I can think of. Quote
Gwen Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 have you checked the radio station website? also might just call the station and ask them.... just be prepared to have them put it on the air lol the ones here are bad about that. everything could end up on air. let us know if you find out, sounds like an interesting song. beefche Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Google is master. It's called The Last Touch by Lez de Azevedo. You can listen to a snippet here to make sure it's the one you are thinking of.Last Touch Quote
john doe Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I'm pretty sure he spells it 'Lex', not 'Lez' now though. I'm not sure when he had it changed. Quote
