yarmatey Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 What do you think of the CEO/President of McDonalds announcing that hyperinflation was going to be worse than ever before? Quote
Mahone Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I think the word 'inflation' coming from anybody working for mcdonalds is amusing. Quote
rameumptom Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I think he knows what he is talking about. He understands economics. When a meal that once cost under 5 bucks now is looking to approach $7 after just a couple years, then one sees that the increase in that time is more than 20% a year. If gas keeps skyrocketing (doubling in 2 years) then we will see the price of everything else jump also. We have low inflation now because the Feds are keeping interest rates low. But it can't work forever, when they are also printing up lots of paper money. Eventually inflation will slip in, and it is. When food prices are jumping by 25 or more percent in a year, then we have some strong inflationary signs occurring. When gold doubles in about 3 years, and silver jumps 50% in 3 months, we can see the inflationary push occurring. If Congress and Pres Obama do not get serious and really fix it soon, we will see hyper inflation. Today's loaf of bread at $2 will seem cheap compared to it costing $10 per loaf. Quote
yarmatey Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 That's exactly why I'm buying my food storage right now rather than waiting. Food is just going to be so expensive in a few months or maybe years, food storage will be worth a whole lot Quote
HoosierGuy Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Gas around here is going up around 4.00/4.10. I did find a station that was 3.90 and that was full of cars. Quote
rameumptom Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I'm also big into food storage. Unfortunately, McDonald's burgers and fries do not keep their flavor for very long after you can them.... Quote

rameumptom Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 But if you don't can your McDonald's Happy Meals, don't the dogs and vermin get into them and end up fat and disgusting looking? Quote
Dravin Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 But if you don't can your McDonald's Happy Meals, don't the dogs and vermin get into them and end up fat and disgusting looking?Better they than the giraffes. Quote
rameumptom Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 That's Africa's problem, not mine. With all those starving kids, perhaps having a bunch of fat giraffes for them to munch on may not be that bad a thing! Quote
