Traveler Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Galations 1:6-9thanks in advance! My response: Why do those that do not believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints publish and teach our doctrines to the world when Galations 1:6-9 clearly commands that they should do no such thing. If they do not believe it is the gospel of Christ - they should not be drawing attention to it, publishing anything about it or teaching others about it. Galations 1:6-9 clearly commands that someone should only teach what they believe (recieved) and leave all other doctrines alone - other wise they will be cursed by G-d (meaning the truth will be lost to them). The Traveler Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) Our response is verses 11-12. If your correspondent is Protestant, it may be helpful to thoughtfully ask why it was OK for Martin Luther (or Calvin, or Wycliffe, or any other Reformer) to teach a gospel that was in some regards different than the pre-existing Catholicism; but it's not OK for Joseph Smith to teach a gospel that is in some regards different than the pre-existing Protestant dogma. livy111us Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Do Mormons teach a different gospel than the one taught by Paul? This link has 4-5 responses to that accusation Quote
bytebear Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 All that verse tells me is how quickly the apostasy was to come. Quote
Seminarysnoozer Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 It seems logical that if we are rewarded for sharing the gospel, (Matt 19:29) that punishment follows leading people away from the truth. Isn't that all those versus are saying? Quote
