HEthePrimate Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 The other morning I was cleaning a building, and I saw a couple of packages outside on top of the mailbox, addressed to the bishops of the wards that meet in that building. Not wanting to leave them outside, I took them into the office. Anyway, they were from someone at the FLDS church! The next day I noticed Joanna Brooks asking on Facebook how many people's bishops were getting these packages, and it appears they've been mailing them out to lots of people. A bishop friend of mine got one, too, and explained they contain "revelations" from Warren Jeffs, and warnings about what is soon to come. Crazy stuff! Have any of you received, or read, any of these packages from the FLDS church? Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 My understanding is that most of the polygamist breakaways believe that at some point we (the mainstream LDS Church) will approach them, hat in hand, recognizing their superior priesthood authority and offering them our property and political influence if they will only allow us back into the fold.Jeffs probably thinks that the time for that has now arrived. john doe Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 I thought I saw on the news the other night that Jeffs had ordered all his followers to stop having sexual relations until he had been interviewed personally by him. Which would be nearly impossible since he is in prison for quite a while, possibly the rest of his life. Quote

john doe Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 So he's just as sane as I supposed.Yes. Sex banned until Warren Jeffs' prison walls crumble, FLDS relatives say | Deseret NewsSo he has prophesied that the prison walls will crumble and fall around him and he will be a free man. I guess he figures that the people responsible for imprisoning him will not lift a finger to stop him from walking out at that point and consider him free from society's rules. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 · Hidden Hidden Perhaps Jeffs has been reading Aristophanes?
zenbones Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Prison walls have crumbled in the past but not for false prophets. Quote
annewandering Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Fumarase Deficiency may be the real reason for all the no sex/dissolving marriage if we could credit Warren Jeffs with any humanity at all. 50% of the people there have the recessive genetic gene for that syndrome from what doctors estimate due to excessive intermarriage. In 2006 there were approximately 20 children there with the problem and it is a severe problem. Fumarase Deficiency is an enzyme irregularity that causes severe mental retardation, epileptic seizures and other cruel effects that leave children nearly helpless and unable to take care of themselves. - from the Deseret News Feb 9, 2006. By now the problem is for sure going to be worse and there is no good prognosis other than bringing in new blood or discontinuing having children or only allowing marriages between people without the gene which is very unlikely. Gwen Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Yes. I guess he figures that the people responsible for imprisoning him will not lift a finger to stop him from walking out at that point and consider him free from society's rules.from the link He recently banned many of the things his followers enjoy: bicycles, ATVs, trampolines, even children's toys. But the sex edict reaches into the bedrooms of all his devoted followers. According to Holm, Jeffs declared all existing marriages to be void. "Right now they have all been told that they are not to live as husband and wife," Holm said. "They can live in the same house, but they are not to have sexual relationships until Warren comes out and 'reseals' them."lol misery loves company? I guess if he can't have his toys or fun no one else will either. Quote

My church recently received two packages from FLDS with books full of warnings as you described. My church is not connected with Mormonism at all. This is very weird and sort of creepy. Quote
