slamjet Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 How does one find out what music/songs are used in the Mormon Messages? For example, this one. The music that's used in all of them are really good stuff and I'd like to get them if available. Quote
Dravin Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 I'd contact them and ask. Though there is the chance that various pieces aren't available commercially.Email Linky: [email protected] Quote

Cannot help you with the music - but if anyone is interested the chaple seen for the baby blessing is a unique building on 7th North and between like 5th and 6th East in Provo, Utah. It use to be called the 19th Ward Building. Built back in the days when the community was responsible for funding and building their own meeting houses. The building was built with a lot of volinteer effort (mine included) and at the time was one of the most expensive meeting houses in the church. If anyone is ever in Provo - you might drop by as see a part of a past and forgotten history in the church (1950') when there were hardly 1,000,000 members that mostly lived in Utah. The Traveler Quote

slamjet Posted January 27, 2012 Author Report Posted January 27, 2012 Got an answer back to my email: Currently, the music for Mormon Messages is not available for purchase or download. Each song is made specifically for the video, isn't available for consumption singly. We apologize for the inconvenience, but look forward to this possibility in the future. Sincerely, The Mormon Channel Team So, that sucks but now I know. Quote
Traveler Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 My grandma was an old widow with nine children who lived just north of 1st North and 6th East. I think my dad and his family helped with that building when he was in high school. I think so - that would have put your grandmother very close to Farrer Jr high school - where I attended - I believe that school is gone now and there is an elementary school there. The homes there are modest by today’s standards and are typically 3 bed rooms with a basement that is nothing like homes today - many constructed with coal stoves for heat. It is likely that your dad grew up like me with not just 2 or three kids per bed room but 2 or 3 kids per bed - we use to sleep 3 to a single bed perpendicular to the bed with our legs hanging over. My father was wealthy but wanted his kids to grow up poor - he felt poor kids grow up better and work harder. Anyway I might have known your dad or one of his siblings - there were 8 kids in my family - I was #3 and finished high school in 64 - I could look up your family in year books and post pictures if I can get my scanner to work.
