I'm leaving for Utah via the train this Thursday the 19th and I'm so excited!! My family is having a reunion, however, we are all looking forward to camping out the night before Pioneer Day in Salt Lake City. I will be taking pictures and sharing it with all of you. :)

Also, what is everyones thoughts on the Pioneers? What does anyone know of the Pioneers and their relationship to the LDS faith?

Honestly, I am very blessed to have knowledge of these wonderful faithful people whom were alienated and mistreated. I am so very grateful and excited to celebrate their life with gratitude and joy for they contributed towards helping us to strengthen our love, devotion and sacrifice for what we believe in which is God and the Lamb Jesus Christ.

God bless everyone and much Love!

I love Pioneer Day. When I was a kid Dad would take us down the Days of '47 Parade every year. My grandmother lived along the route and we would watch from her apartment or my Dad's office.

There are things going on all day but the Parade starts at 9am. To get a spot you have to "camp" on the road all night. Most people set up tents now. The road is blocked off by the police and they patrol it all night. Since it has gotten so hard to get a place to see the parade we watch it from home on TV now.

There will also be things going on at Liberty Park all day.

I hope you have fun!

My ancestors were those Pioneers. :D

I have never been to the Salt Lake one. I participate in the Ogden one, since marriage the rodeo celebration in a tiny place called Park Valley, and when I worked at Scout Camp we just considered it a party evening where we would drink exuberant amounts of sugary punch and shoot rifles. When I was younger, my sisters and I would tie Harry Potter Lego people to firecrackers.

I almost forgot. The Days of '47 Rodeo in Ogden (about an 45 minutes north of SLC) is really great to watch. They are there all week. :)
