Meeting with the bishop dont know what to say?!

I have meeting with my bishop tomorrow and I want to talk to him about getting a divorce from my abusive husband of 2 years but i really dont know how to start the conversation. I also wanna talk about getting some personal counseling outside of the church because me and my bishop are so close i dont want to ruin the relationship with telling him everything i have been through.

Any advice on how to bring up these topics?

Your bishop isn't your therapist. He's your spiritual guide. If LDS Social Services has an office near you, ask if you might be able to talk to one of their professional counselors. If not, he may be able to recommend a good counselor who is familiar with LDS values and give advice accordingly.

I had that meeting once. I felt the same way. When the meeting happened, it spilled out in tears and words for two hours. Just say what you can, the rest will come out as soon as you get started.

Seriously. In fact, my suggestion is to simply print out a screen shot of your original post and, if needed, read it verbatim in the bishop's office. It's a fine opening line.
