NeuroTypical Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 CIA directors engaging in extramarital affairs must be removed from their position. This is not a political thing - not a left vs right thing. It's a national security thing. Resign or get fired, before or after elections - those are political things. But the rule has to be 'out, no exceptions'. It's a dang shame. I liked Petraeus. I hope he can continue to serve in some capacity where any former, current, or future leverage any bad guy might have, would not damage anything beyond his personal life or ability to serve. Quote

But the rule has to be 'out, no exceptions'.But that wasn't the rule here. The FBI has apparently known about this for months. Petraeus was actually confronted about it by FBI investigators two weeks ago. But a recent New York Times story has the White House swearing no one told them until this past Wednesday. Conspicuously absent from the story are AG Holder and FBI director Mueller (the latter, a holdover from the Bush years). Edited November 11, 2012 by Just_A_Guy Quote
carlimac Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 If you notice, only Fox News is ferreting out the story. And for a lot of people - including Anne - Fox News is not news.I was watching Fox when the "news" broke. Yes it is a news channel ( with a lot of opinion and who-dun-it going on.) I prefer Fox to the cocky, uppity anchors of the other " news" channels. But then I guess it suits simple minded moi. Quote

Guest Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 According to factcheck.org, Hillary Clinton was the first person to publicly state the attack was the result of the video.I'm not sure what the significance of this is. Can you expound on your thoughts on this matter? Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted November 12, 2012 Author Report Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) Surprise!CIA was secretly holding Libyan militiamen in Benghazi at time of attack, says Petraeus paramour. No wonder the Administration wanted this hushed up.And guess what? She was saying it before the election - and it was picked up by approximately zero people in the media. Echo2002 Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Anne, that's a nice take on the matter but it doesn't add up. Petreus tried to sell the story that Benghazi was not a terrorist attack but a protest. It is now coming out that it WAS a terrorist attack - even the President said so in the 2nd debate.I was referring to what you said about Patreus trying to sell the attack as a protest. Hillary Clinton was the first to publicly announce that it was the result of a protest. Quote

Hillary Clinton was the first to publicly announce that it was the result of a protest.Hilary gave the announcement... Followed by all the others - Susan Rice, Biden, and Obama himself - to the public based on "intelligence reports". Intelligence in this case is the CIA. CIA is Petraeus.Petraeus supposedly gave the testimony infront of the House Intelligence Committee on Sept 14. A democrat congressman gave details of his testimony to the press. Now, you can always conclude that Petreaus never said it was a video and that the Congressman was lying to the press about what Petreaus said at the House Intelligence Committee briefing. That would paint Hilary, Biden, and Obama as liars. Very serious charges indeed. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted November 17, 2012 Author Report Posted November 17, 2012 Nice roundup of post-election economic revelations here.
