anon2323 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 If you havent heard of idosers they are like binural beats and some of them recreate drugs and since drugs are aginst the word of wisdom, are Idosers? Quote
Wingnut Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 If it alters your mental state, it's probably against the Word of Wisdom. Quote
skippy740 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 The Word of Wisdom is specific to a dietary code of health. The only area where the Church may have an opinion on idosers is here:https://www.lds.org/youth/for-the-strength-of-youth/music-and-dancing?lang=engIdosers, judging purely from what little I read on Wikipedia, may simulate certain effects on the mind and body, but it is not a physical drug. However, if you are addicted to such an influence, like one may be addicted to pornography... then it is simply not good for your body and mind to indulge in this.Clear as mud? classylady Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 I had to google I-doser and binaural beats. I had never heard of them before. If you're using an I-doser to simulate a drug response, I'd question the motives behind it. If you're using it for relaxation, I would think it wouldn't be much different than using aromatic therapy or yoga. From what I've read, there's some controversy about it. So far, about the only thing proven it can do is relaxation. Quote

I used a couple of them to avoid about 80% of the prescribed Norco when I had an abscessed tooth, and they worked fairly well as a supplement to the real narcotic, with the bonus of no hot flashes or stomach upset. When I tried the same ones without any actual pharmaceuticals for a flare up of a shoulder injury, they didn't do anything but put me to sleep. (Fortunately, dulling the pain enough to sleep was what I was after anyway, but I didn't feel any lessening of the pain before dozing off.) Quote
