I was looking for the post that recommended members from this board to go to another so called Christian board. I went there and it took only two posts to make me want to scream. I don’t recommend going nor do I think it is even a healthy open board of free exchange of Ideas. I posted twice first and last.

Hi there!

:D

It is okay if I post here, isn't it? I promise that I won't behave on your forum as all of you did on christianforums.

You are going to welcome here, aren't you?

I am free to post as long as I follow the rules, right?

~serapha~

Hey! I have never even been to that site, let alone posted on it! Please don't lump us all in together like we are a faceless mob. Thanks.

Hello Jenda,

You do seem to be finding a new home at christianforums. I guess maybe it is more to your liking now that you realize that the "bigots" aren't really "bigots" and that the members there are capable of discussions when they aren't "attacked" by trolls.

So, Serapha, aren't you a little irritated that they haven't asked me to remove the Christian symbol from my name yet?  Just a little?  B)

Actually, after the onslaught of trolls and the lack of response by the moderators, I told them I wasn't going to be posting on the "unorthodox Christianity" forum. I have been posting on the general apologetics tonight and my regular postings in "questions in Christianity" ... oh yeah.... and the one posting to the senior adminsitrator concerning your use of the "cross" as your icon when you adher to the book of mormon.

I would think that you would be proud of your beliefs.....

Myself, I like it simple... no crosses, no reps, nothing I don't have to carry around with my name

~serapha~

I like that I have appropriated an Egyptian goddess as my avatar. I'd use a mormon goddess, but they don't have any. . . . . not that we know about anyway, LOL

Here is the comment of the owner of the CF site (ERWIN) ...

Breetai:  I agree with Serapha and drstevej here. Although there are not too many of them, they(the RLDS/CoC) are posing as 'orthodox Christians'. They refuse to use the Mormon icon because they are not part of the main LDS church. They should at least be using the 'other' icon. They are promoting doctrine that is opposed to the Nicene Creed.

Erwin: I agree - it should be Other-church.

Because if you can...

identify them, you can label them, and

if you label them, you can denounce them, and

if you can denounce them, you can marginalize them,

And if you can marginalize another group, you can exhalt yourself and imagine that you are superior instead of an unChristian group of pathetic bigots who will do anything and say anything to identify, label, denounce and marginalize other to exhalt yourself....

Kinda like some mormons do with the term "non-member", eh? Or how about "inactives"? Nice marginalizing labels, wouldn't you agree?

BTW, what happened to your shoes? I promise, I wasn't REALLY going to stick hot pins in the little red Barbie shoes I have! I repented from using the Spiderman action figure to pull some voo-doo over on you. Really I did!

I dunno,

I can't speak for others but if I used the words inactive or non-members, I am not attacching any qualitative judgement to them - no more than the word redhead means your head is red. So, no, I wouldn't agree in my case but acknowledge that the gospel has yet to relieve all people of their propensity to behave like imperfect human beings.

would you explain this to me... either by the D&C or whichever prophet teaches this? I don't really that is a church doctrine. It might be a church teaching, but I don't think that is a doctrine.

Serapha,

I don't know what you are getting at. The D&C doesn't say that. I said it. It means that the clowns at Christianforums are far from Christian in their behavior when the attack and denigrate the Church of Jesus Christ.

Agreed, they sound like little Ed Decker and Tanner Clones. Some are sensationalists and the others are somewhat more "educated" in their responses. But nonetheless the same "broken-record" agenda to bashing Mormons. Also, I was kicked off of Christian Forums for saying that the BOM is true, Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that we are the one true Church. Mind you I stated this in an UNORTHODOX section of the website. In any case there were about 2 people that I found cordial and inviting, who never really were anything but nice. The others like to slap you in the face, and then warn you about being unchristian like when you slapped back. If you get on there(I was on there for a month), watch out for MagusAlbertus, Der Alter, and the rest of the CF goones.

All it says about those christians is that they are very insecure in their religious beliefs, and..

that they have been so brainwashed by their leaders with fear and trembling...about us 'evil' mormon cultists....that

they wouldn't be able to accept truth if the Good Lord, Himself came down and showed them it was true.

Who knows. But the Prophet Joseph Smith had a great comment for their kind.

And I quote.

Some Men "Too Wise to Be Taught" There are a great many wise men and women too in our midst who are too wise to be taught; therefore they must die in their ignorance, and in the resurrection they will find their mistake. Many seal up the door of heaven by saying, So far God may reveal and I will believe.

All men who become heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ will have to receive the fulness of the ordinances of his kingdom; and those who will not receive all the ordinances will come short of the fulness of that glory, if they do not lose the whole.

---Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith, p. 309

Is that the drstevej and wrigley who I see when I lurk on Free Republic? They are clearly hostile towards LDS. They need to be put in their place.

Probably. The style is the same. Attack the LDS often and early. I can rest assured that they'll see the folly of their ways soon enough. Hopefully sooner.

There is that word again. Some people need to stop using that word as a crutch to describe people who don't see life the way they do.

From Dictionary.com:

big·ot ( P ) Pronunciation Key (bgt)

n.

One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

Is this not what they were doing....

PS: yes, I have seen some here act this way .... BOTH non lds and LDS ....

but not to the extent that they use it there....

but what do i know eh B)

Let me tiptoe across eggshells.....

If you are into goddess worship as a member of the CoJCoLDS's, would you be interested in joining a forum for members of the church who are active in goddess worship? and I am not laughing... but serious. no LOL here.

My friend,

I wasn't asking about christianforums. I was was asking about the terms "marginalize" in relation to exaltation, particularly the comment,

"denounce and marginalize other to exhalt yourself"

Those are terms that are "foreign" to me, and I simply wanted an explanation. I do understand "exaltation" (Discussions for New Members, Lesson 2; Eternal Progression, discussion 4, Uniform System for teaching the Gospel)

It is "marginalize" and "denounce" in relation to exaltation that I haven't comprehended.

but you don't have to answer. I can just continue to wonder.

When we refer to someone in the church as "in-active, less active, non-member" we are IDENTIFYING them. We don't exclude or seperate people into lower classes based on these terms. There's a huge difference.

It's not like you walk into the church building and have to fill out a questionare stating your beliefs, your frequency in attendance at church, or what book of scripture you happen to be reading at the moment. The missionaries don't collect these questionares and escort you to a special room based on your answers. John Doe could walk in and sit in Priesthood if he wants. Jane Doe can go to Relief Society and listen to lessons on how to make jam.

BIG DIFFERENCE!!

Posted

I am not talking about exaltation from an LDS doctrinal perspective and I am unfamiliar with any religious doctrine of marginalization. I use the words with their usual connotations. Many of the unChristian posts I saw from people who pretend to be Christian at Christianforum are hardly Christian at all in their behavior. They are more interested in acting as Pharisee's than in following Christ. In acting as Pharisees they denounce and marginalize others, probably for a whole host of reasons... inferiority complex and thus a need to puff themselves up (exalt themselves over others -- see! see! I'm saved and you are not; look, look at me and see the face of salvation - look, look at you and note how much more saved -read better- I am than you.); or denounce because of ignorance, evil intention, stupidity, bigotry... take your pick. I see it all there and more.
