Dravin Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Hilarious, the guy playing the role does a surprisingly good Gandalf impersonation. I also love the inspirational speeches. Quote
Jenamarie Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Ha! DH and I watched this last night and thought it was hilarious! He really does do great impressions! You might also like this from his days with Divine Comedy. It's a "redo" of what was his audition to be part of the cast: Quote
beefche Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 My favorite part was when she said that Gandalf made a hobbit go into the midst of an Orc army with a sign that said, "Your mother was an elf!" Gutbusting funny! Quote
Jenamarie Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Bumping this up. They've got an awesome new one out now staring the missionaries! Quote
beefche Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Oh my gosh! That is hilarious! I love "Well, He goes by many names." Quote
Dravin Posted May 25, 2013 Author Report Posted May 25, 2013 I loved it, they didn't drag it on too long like they have with some of their skits. I'm catching more and more of them (we've set it up to record on the DVR) and it seems like the show is getting better about that aspect. Not perfect, but then not even SNL is perfect about never have a skit drag on too long. Quote
Vort Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 SNL sucks, and frankly, it always has. Even at its best in that late '70s with the "Not Ready for Prime-Time Players", it was never over 50% funny, and usually far less. I haven't watched this season of Studio C, and last season was very uneven, but on average, it's probably as funny as, or maybe funnier than, SNL. At least if you're a Mormon. Quote
