Guest Emma Hale Smith Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I have a cat.I have a love/hate relationship with this cat. He can be the cutest, sweetest, coziest critter. Then he becomes so obnoxious, whiney, and stupid! The problem is he's actually an incredibly smart cat! He knows the limits of what he's not supposed to do, such as not get on the kitchen counters, not whine incessantly, etc.. So when I'm in the room, he doesn't do these things. But when I walk in on him unexpectedly. . . ha! He's caught! My daughter, on the other hand, psychotically adores him, boring anyone who will listen with his exploits. So I have to put up with the his whining and hairballs and freakouts and adorable antics.I seriously despise the thing. My suggestion for a name: Stupid S#% of @ %@^T$!For you cat lovers Cat, I'm a Kitty Cat, and I Dance Dance Dance.Mean Mean Mean Emma Quote
Guest Yediyd Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 <div class='quotemain'>Came home to a kitten today. Wife and children call played the, 'Look how cute she is. Can we keep her, can we keep her, please" card. Dr T. Put your foot down NOW! Tell them in absolutely no uncertain terms that cats are of the devil and you won't have one in your house! They poop inside, they chew string and then hork it everywhere, they lick themselves and their hair and then hork everywhere, they eat and then hork (are you getting the common thread here???).Yeah, when they are kittens they are SOOOO cute, but then the litter begins, they grow up, and they ###### as a pet.Give me a dog anytime. I have a cat, and every day wish I could take him out for target practice, but my love for my daughter stops me. I have already told here I am bringing that rotten spawn of Satan and his litter box to her graduation day from BYU and handing him over after she gets her diploma!I HATE CATS!do you know what the difference between a dog and a cat is? when you call a dog, he comes running...when you call a cat, he takes a message and gets back to you!My daughter had a cat named, SnicklefritzI had a cat named Grey ghost Quote
Gwen Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Wow Frank! That is one beautiful cat!!Almom, I'm sorry to hear of your problems training your kitty. My kitty used to poo in my daughter's bedroom and beside our toilet, lol...We read that you ought to put something over the area (after cleaning it up) that put's the cat off pooing there...trouble is, I can't remember what it is they suggested putting down!! Could have been vinegar but you might want to check that out online! If you don't want a litter tray indoors, perhaps you could use one outside temporarily, as when we've litter trained our kitties we then move the tray outside so the kitty gets used to using it outside, then moves onto just going out and using whatever piece of grass is available...poor neighbours, lol. :)i'll see what i can find about that, thank you. i've been washing the area and putting disinfectant down, guess that's not it. lol Quote

Guest MrsS Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 i'll see what i can find about that, thank you. i've been washing the area and putting disinfectant down, guess that's not it. lol Mix up a spray bottle of 1 part Pine Sol (or store brand) and 4 parts water. Wash and spray with that. It will neutralize the odor/stain and it should also repel the cat from that area. Pine Sol is loathed by rodents and vermin. It will totally eradicate the smell of skunk spray and tom cat urine spray! AND female cat in heat spray. Get your self a litter box and start the cat out using it in the house. Once the cat uses it exclusively, then move the litter box outside in a protected area - no rain can get to it. Bring the box in when you bring the cat in for the night. Put it back outside when the cat is outside. I was forturate that when I did this with one of my cats (she had the absolutely stinkiest urine and poo - 100 x more so than the other two cats!) I was putting the box outside where the breezeway walkway was right next to dirt. Couldn't really grow anything there because of the excessive shade. Any way, each week there-after I started burying the littler box, and at the same time adding dirt to the litter. In about three months I was putting all dirt into the litter box and the box was totally into the dirt. What I mean is dig out a trench about an inch all the way around larger than the litter box, and place the box in it. Each week dig the trench a bit deeper, until eventually the top of the box is at ground level. By this time the cat should be used to going in the more dirt than litter litter box. When you are at the point where it is all dirt - remove the litter pan and put in storage (after you clean with pine sol). Your cat now is pottying out side in the dirt! Quote
Dr T Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 That's good to know. A friend of mine that owns a cleaning service (Service Master) told me that cat pee cannot be cleaned. "You might as well burn it" he said. Thank you MrsS. :) Quote
