God and Suffering

I think you are right, Traveler. This thread has caused me to reflect much on our preexistence. And I definitely believe God would not have sent us here without first giving us an idea of what we could expect and allowing us to chose.

And I think that also brings us to the idea of our attitudes and reactions to these mortal experiences. Obviously some people chose to lose faith and turn away from God when they suffer which will not lead to joy. We must turn to God and Christ and only then will our suffering lead us to joy.

Thanks for your insights, Traveler. And thanks again, Finrock, for starting this thread. This topic has been in the back of my mind ever since General Conference as I felt there was so much said on enduring and it left me wondering what was coming to the people of this church or perhaps to me personally. And while I feel that I still don't know it all and there is more to learn on the subject, I also feel that I have gained some great insights.
