andypg Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 After being a member for almost four months, I'm still doing the new member lessons with the missionaries. I love meeting with the missionaries so much!! Anyways, last time we met, they gave me a copy of Preach My Gospel and gave me an assignment: our next meeting (tomorrow) they want me to teach one of the lessons to them. They want me to take anything from Preach My Gospel and explain it to them.To be honest, I'm excited for this challenge, but also very nervous!I think it's a great thing for missionaries to do. Helps newbies explore. Quote
Guest Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 I'm glad you're not "teaching them a lesson" in some other way! Quote
skippy740 Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 I totally agree with the "Laying on of Hands"! Quote
pam Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 I will admit, I was a bit concerned about the title of this thread until I read the OP. :) Quote
Roseslipper Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 Try not 2 be nervous...I shouldn't speak I'm nervous to speak in front of a class, but it's all to teach us, to help us grow in faith+ knowledge and I'm sure you can teach the missionaries things. You can pray and ask the Lord what lesson to teach the missionaries ask for His Spirit to be with you and you will not go wrong......We all teach each other in the church. The old teach the young, the young teach the old its all good. Let us know how it goes..... Quote
dahlia Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 At least they aren't dragging you around the ward to meet Catholics in the hope your experience will help convert them. Been there, done that. Quote
Quin Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 90% of what you teach!I used to have my students do that. Quote
applepansy Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 Preparing a lesson or preparing a talk are great way to Study. I love missionaries. Quote
MissouriBoiler Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 Your testimony will be your strongest teaching tool. Sounds like fun! Quote
Dravin Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 With a thread title like that you have to open the lesson with, "Say, "Hello." to my little friend!" Quote
